The gameplay is really solid. The death screens are hilarious. I like the art style, but the change in pixel size on some of the effects took me out of the Gameboy feel. I liked the music too, though at some points it felt discordant. Really solid game overall. I'll definitely play it again.
Hi, thanks for your comment.
Could you please elaborate more on what you mean regarding the music? Thanks.
At certain points in the song, it sounded like a chord was off compared to the rest of the melody, or another song/part of the song started playing at the wrong time. Maybe I just had some lag, I dunno.
Interesting, thanks for taking the time to tell me more :)
It's true that the music was intentionally designed to contain some dissonance, some use of MinMaj7 chords that aren't super common in most music.
I am bad at platformers but I was bailed out by the checkpoint system, which was a big relief.
I appreciate that you made your main character a little bit freakish, and in my mind the debug states above her head were actually just her talking to herself to stay focused, which added to the freakishness.
Really well done! Couldn't quite make it through the boss, but I appreciate the checkpoint system. The tracking enemy also got me a couple times.
Excellent! Short, sweet, and fun platformer. The boss is a challenge to beat.
Just really solid all around. The difficulty feels very right for a gameboy game, especially when you have to redo some longer platforming sections. Really appreciate the checkpoints right outside each boss room though.
I did die once on the first boss because I had learned bubbles were safe to stand on, and that was quickly disproved, haha. I can see from your lower comments you originally hadn't planned to use bubbles as a travel thing, so I get that it was more of a jam requirement than a design choice.
It was very satisfying to learn the boss patterns, and beat the game.
Your gameboy vibe was excellent, but you did have a couple things (like the rock smash spell) that really break the resolution requirements. (Don't worry, you're not in trouble.) Hope you're going to participate again next year because you really get that gameboy feeling.
Hi, thanks for the review.
I get what you mean with the bubbles haha, even as someone who worked on the project I made the same mistake... We didn't spot the issues with the resolution until you and another brought it up, totally accidental haha.
Fun little romp! Nice graphics, nice challenge!
I had the player state in text above everything I did (IDLE, WALK, JUMP, DEAD, etc) which was distracting. I also wish the text in the cutscenes was at the correct GB resolution. We really struggled to get our text in game because of the limitations, so takes you out of the GB immersion a bit.
Overall, very fun, well done!

I enjoyed it a lot, great game!
Great Game! Congratzz
Nice job! Great witchy vibes
This was fun. I loved the bubble lifts! However a troll face on the deathscreen? Mods, ban this guy.
But in all seriousness, this was very enjoyable.
Thank you for the Feedback! Ahh, if I told you that the bubbles lifts were NOT planned and were done 5 hours before deadline.. because we still had not completed the stair climbing mechanism so decided to do something easier and faster.. so reused the bubble shot from first boss to use as elevators. Hahaha, That's what it means to be in a game jam with time restrictions.
Hey those limitations are what gives rise to the quirky stuff that gives a game its identity. Innovation through limitation? 100% in the spirit of the Gameboy!
I wish I was better at platformers so I could enjoy this full game. It was a blast the little bit i did play
Thanks for playing :)
Internally we found it quite challenging too ahah, don't worry about it
I love the graphics and the first boss battle! It was really satisfying beating the first boss after dying like 10 times but learning the patterns eventually haha. The fly ability is really cool, the wand starts to feel kind of weak traversing from the first to second boss. The game is so polished from everything from the sprites to the sound effects to the troll face on the game over screen.
Thanks for your feedback! We actually enjoyed developing this bosses. The first boss was for sure harder but FUN!. About the wand / fire spell yes, it feels weaker as enemies are harder, reason why you get a second spell after defeating the second boss, but I think we should have upgrade the first spell anyways and just add additional health to new enemies to see progress from first to second map as you mentioned. Thank you!
good game, I really liked it, the bosses mechanics are nice, after 5 attempts I managed to beat the first boss xD the second one was easier.
I invite you to play my game and give me some feedback as well ^^
Thank you for your feedback. I will try to play your game .
One of the best games that I played so far in the GB Jam 12! I actually featured your game in my livestream review:
thanks
