Good graphics and sound and easy to understand and get into. After a while I stared using trial and error to solve the puzzles.

Its like im batman and the riddler is very religious.

Developer

Haha, you could say he's riddligious! Thanks for checking it out :)

I loved the mechanic of cutting wires and being able to cut anywhere on the screen. The puzzles were a little confusing at first but then I got into the swing of things. The puzzles started to get too obscure by the stage where it crossed wires with the book and I mostly had to do it through trial and error because the clues were too opaque and open to interpretation. It wasn't clear if the previous rules carried over to the new rooms or not, and by the time the clock puzzle came in there were so many conflicting different clues that I wasn't sure where to begin. I thought I might have to do it clockwise, or start from the shadowy area, or from the lightest area but then cut the sun, but it was the eye and... I think it just became too complexed and the puzzles too vague without a way to review the clues in full.

I loved the sound, it played really well each time it restarted and I was really grooving to it. The countdown timer looked great too.

It all felt very authentic, and the UI was just right. Mostly fives!

Hey Polyducks, thanks for checking it out and thanks for a really fun jam! This was our first time participating in GB JAM :)
You certainly weren't alone in finding the puzzles a bit too cryptic - one of our playtesters described it as a "puzzle gamers puzzle game". We get very mixed reviews about the difficulty and it was the biggest design challenge we faced by far.
Thanks again - we're looking forward to GB  JAM 11 already!! ;)

I'm so glad you had a good time. Everyone seems to have got some really useful feedback on their games too.

I've mostly prepped the page for next year, so the countdown will be ready so people can be better prepared!

I would have loved a game like this as a kid. I think this is great and a lot of fun to play! Excellent work!

Developer

Thanks so much for checking it out! One of our earliest design goals was to capture that feeling of when you're a kid and all you've got is the manual and the cartridge - you're a little confused but you really wanna piece it all together!! :)

Very nice puzzles! Good job!

Thanks for checking it out!

Nice job. It obviously has the Gameboy soul in it.

Good challenges overall, and I really liked the manual!

Developer

Thanks! Gameboy soul was probably the thing we focused most on. We imagined a kid sitting in the corner of their room, gameboy in one hand and manual in the other, trying to not explode :)

Nice job on this one! I'm a sucker for religious realotry, and the implementation of the clues in the manual are a great throwback to traditional retro games. The cryptic messages aren't overly complex, but get the job done nicely.

Developer

You must like puzzles a lot, most find them way too hard! Sounds like you were our target audience :) Glad you had fun!!
