Started late, just submitted, 2nd GDTV Jam for me!

GDTV Jam 24 was my first ever jam so I wanted to participate in this one and hopefully many more.  I almost missed it and didn't notice it until after a few days were already gone.

My game this year is more than last year's, but less than I'm capable of making.  Wanting to make something in the timeframe, I went for a simpler game design and tried to keep it somewhat interesting.  It's definitely a little rough around the edges, but I've managed to make a game in about 20 hours and get it uploaded and submitted.

If you want to give it a go the link is https://crazyhoundgamedesign.itch.io/petri-dish-gdtv-jam-25

I would appreciate any feedback you have, I will post the ratings page here when it opens as well.

I'm having fun playing this! I wish it had keyboard controls, but that's really the only thing

Thanks for the feedback, I thought about making it use keyboard controls, and I might add it in after the jam, but I've never made a clicker game before so wanted to stick to that for now.

I'm glad you're enjoying it, I've only managed to beat it once in all the play tests I've done, even when I tried to beat it.

Looks great! I'm very much into 'clicker games' in particular modern point and click adventures like Samorost. The main reason is that they are accessible for mobile devices. As for your game I would suggest having a toggle to bring up the instructions after the game has started because most people won't read the instructions until they need them and it's a shame to have to restart the game.

Noted, might be able to get that done before the end of the jam.  Got work soon though.

Thanks for giving it a go as well.

Managed to get this change implemented, took a little bit of bouncing around to convert the approach and get it working as intended, but it seems to be working with pause states.  I've tested various ways of interacting with the instructions and think I've caught all the variables.

i really good. are the assets hand drawn? i like how the difficulty ramped up. but a lot of viruses spawned under me.

Thanks for having a go.

The assets are as close to hand drawn as I could make them.  Not quite sure how qualify "not pixel art", but definitely not pen and paper.  They were all made with brushes and eraser in GIMP.  The brushes to make the shapes, and the eraser to do the gradients and hard edges.
