i NEARLY evolved to the last stage. those shrimps got me in the last seconds... the challenge was quite well balanced, though it would have been nice to see the evolution be reflected in the creature abilities. the moving-towards-the-surface-ascension theme was quite nice though.

Pretty cool concept; the art style is pretty cool as well; I think the predators should not spawn instantly as they do; and the cutscenes are pretty cool too. Good job!

Really enjoyed this! The mechanics are great and it is very addictive and fun. It definitely fits the theme and I love the art style of the sprites too. I like the way you had a little cut scene to introduce the evolution idea at the start and the way the eating sounds got deeper the more you evolved. Beyond the jam it would be nice to add some parallax background to give a better sense of depth and movement.

But it was a nice game. I liked the gulp and the change of it a lot! :D

Nice work! I've always wanted to see this mechanic from spore expanded upon, and you did a great job! It's super satisfying to see your little creature grow with every piece of food they eat, and all the character designs were really charming!
