Your game had a really high intensity for a word typing game and it was great! If you had punished typing in the wrong letter and/or made the sfx extra when you did type in the wrong letter it would have been even more intense. There are a lot of routes where this could be taken. Good game!

I gotta say, I hooked to this typing game. Good concept!

not a bad game, hard for those who dont type well. :)

Good humour fun gameplay. Ive never missed the ability to press tab more in my life haha.

Thanks for commenting. I'll add tab to move right and enter to move down after the jam ends.

Submitted

haha I was joking but I do think it would make a nice QoL improvement.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback. I added Excel-like keybinds to make movement easier ;)

Great concept, enjoyed the humour as well.  Bloody Gunnar G.

Felt like a tiny delay between moving and it accepting the character inputs, could be my chiclets, overall I enjoyed it.  Nice work!

Very cool concept!  Don't like having to navigate with the arrows, but it was pretty fun!

Developer

Thanks for the comment, a lot of people suggested this so I added (shift+)tab/enter for moving around.

Fun and interesting game idea! I just think that it would feel better if you are able to type as soon as you press the arrow-key to change the field you're in and not only when the switch "animation" is done, as I sometimes thought I was done when the game didn't even recognize the first letter

Very fun game with a unique idea. I just wish it was lighter on my computer.

Fun/Mechanics

It's essentially a dungeon crawler mixed with a typing game as you type to fight your way through a spreadsheet. I think this is a very original idea for a game. I liked challenging myself trying to get as many of the words/monsters in a room defeated and see how high I could get my number of characters/health points. It’s simple but addictive.

Theme

This is definitely an interesting interpretation of the theme. A “dungeon” inside of a spreadsheet program. Definitely unique!

Aesthetics

The art style is simple - it resembles a spreadsheet application, but it works for a game like this. I like that how the screen flashes red as if you’re being hit by an actual monster despite being in a typing game

Music/Audio

The music fits well with the frantic nature of the game as you’ll be trying to type as fast as you can.

Overall

I think this is an interesting idea for a game and is an example of the kind of ideas I like to see come from a game jam. The combination of a dungeon crawler and a typing game is definitely unique!

Thanks for submitting!

unique concept of the game and simple game, pretty fun to play. Using spreadsheet was a cool idea for game! nice job!

Oh wow, that is tough, and even more when I needed to type capital letters or apparently random sequences. The "spreadsheet" was really nicely implemented. Good work!

Developer

The random sequences are leetspeak FYI. They were there for a challenge but a lot of people understandably found them hard to type. When I update this after the rating period ends I'll let the player select difficulty and move this feature to hard mode.

I had so much fun. The humor lands very well and animations/sfx makes this very responsive to play. One little feedback would be to skip dialogue after restarting.

A form of typing tutor. I liked it, very innovative and entertaining.

I didn't feel like I was prepared when playing though, I seemed to die quite quickly, but as I can't touch type I couldn't really look to see how quickly I was dying! A step-through tutorial is certainly a nice to have in a game jam, but I'd really like time to stop on the first occurance of an event so I have the time to understand it. Also, occasionally I seemed to start typing too quickly and it didn't register :(

It was fun though. I certainly gave it a few good goes and made progress.

Very unique! Interesting interpretation of the theme! Very enjoyable fast paced game :)

I love typing game, and this is fun. It would be nice if there is a game over screen with some witty phrases instead of just instantly transported back to the start of the game. I might need to improve my typing skill to win the game. :D

Hi, I love this typing dungeon :D The mechanic is great and is well connecting with this game jam theme. GOOD JOB ;)
