Hi, congrats on your game! :) The game is quite interesting, and it seems like it would work perfectly as a board game. I noticed that if you hit the piece too hard, the white piece ends up under the orange one 90% of the time. It would be expected that the orange piece would fly away. Perhaps making some adjustments to the physics of the game could help.

If you have some spare time, please try out my game. It's a classic space shooter from the 80s but with a personal touch. Please leave your honest feedback.

Thanks. I played your game too and will comment there. I do need to work out haw to fix that bug, its the only one I couldn't squish...

It is based on the boardgame Crokinole (the board geometry is similar).

Nice little unique game.  Good work with the menus.  Is it in 2 dimensions as the planets move in an ecliptic plane so 2D?

Developer

Thanks for the comment. Yes, they are all stuck in 2D, I'm not very creative, it turns out :)

I "won" with a score of -85 ;) Jupiter often got stuck under Mars, and the white pegs around the sun felt frustrating to work around. However, well done for getting your first jam game out!

Developer

Haha, that is quite a spectacular score! My best is 15 so to the best of my knowledge we both hold a world record!

I was aware of the stacking issue, but couldn't find a fix, even with Z-axis locking. Perhaps I'll try reducing the impulse and the friction to make the collisions gentler without changing the feel too much. The pegs are what makes it "Crokinole" and yes, they are frustrating!

Thanks for checking it out and the encouragement.

pretty good game, and unique. However, I don't know the connection between the theme. It also will be more fun if you give the player more challenge to face. For example, maybe the longer you playing, asteroid will spawn and roam around so player must avoid it. overall, nice job for completing your first jam!

Developer

Thanks very much! The connection to the theme could only be that it is played in 2D... Pretty tenuous, I know, but I'm just glad I could make something at all! I definitely had grander plans in the beginning, including orbital mechanics, astroid belts, more randomness and levels, but in the end I just wanted to get something finished, and stretch myself a little more each opportunity.

Thanks for taking the time to play.

ah yes 2D is 2 dimension after all xD, forgot about that, my bad xD
