Cool game and definitely have potential with some balancing and more polish.

What I would love to see in this game is zoom out/in function (I was dragging to look for good placement for the woodcutter hut and got 'lost' for a while looking back for the townhall. :D

A speed up function will really improve the game. Oh, and the reset somehow did not reset the wood and food quantity. At one playthrough I was soft locked when my 2 wood cutters just stuck together. Probably they're gossiping and forgetting to work :D

As for the voice over although AI generated surely added some kind of charm to the game, and nice music too.

A job well done!

(1 edit)

Wow. I really love this game. Nice aesthetic and atmosphere, good story too.

A tiny dot at the center will make it easier to interact. Some puzzles and some interactable objects that may reveal more in depth of the story would be nice too.

But really, for a game jam game, this is really good. I enjoyed playing it. Good game!

This will be my 3rd year participating in GameDev.tv game jam. It was always fun and of course I like free courses. Hahaha.

Anyways, this game was made following the course that I got from my first gamedev.tv's game jam: The Game
I added a few things myself too.

Last year I got the Blender Rigging and Animation course but haven't got the time to finish it yet. :D

Anyways, I would appreciate it if you'll take a look at my game: TinyTerra

It's a cozy game.

Good luck for this year's game jam! I see that you made a horror game. I like horror game, a few that I found did not have webGL version. I might go and have a play later when I have the time. :D

Super fun and great game! I love it! A backspace will be a good additional but kinda stray from the numpad. But yeah, this is a solid puzzle game. Good job!

I have to agree with everyone else. This is really a good start with a lot of potential.

But it's quite weird to feed the pet and the hunger value keep on going up.

Really cute art style though, keep up the good work!

I played until I cannot hand cannot handle clicking anymore. :D

Beautiful art style. I wish the caterpillars, and the eggs got the same art treatment. It would be cool to if we can have a butterfly catalog to know if we've already bred all kind of butterfly available.

Overall. it's a nice game.

This is cool! I'd read your comment about what happened behind the scenes. So much to consider and need balancing. Good job managing all that.

I'm not really familiar with desktop game, but I believe visual should be the main aspect of that kind of game, at least in your case. The satisfaction comes from watching how it blossoms from nothing to an incredible and lively terrarium. Visual improvement will definitely make the game so much better.

Overall, this is a nice and relaxing game. Love the music too.

I really like the art style. Cute game!
The jumping sound is the best! Hahaha.

What I need more than anything in this game is life drop. Some additional power ups will definitely help teddy to combat all those pesky nightmare bugs too.

Good job!

This looks interesting. Is it possible if you upload the webGL version?

This is a nice cozy game! I'd played until the end and thought I wanted to try again on some level, but I cannot click on top row level buttons on the level selection menu. And it would also be nice to have a choice to get to the main menu/level selection from the gameplay scene. Overall, this really is a solid and polished submission. Well done!!

Yeah, it could be so much better if we can resize the items. It was in the initial plan, but we don't have enough time to implement it. That will definitely be the next thing to add if we decided to work more on the game. :D

Anyways, thanks so much for playing.

Thanks for playing our game.  :)

About the overlapping, that is probably what happened, because the collider for the item is not covering all the sprite. We did plan to resize the collider bound depend on the sprite size but just don't have the time to get to it.

Oh, and the settings etc, we definitely didn't catch that before.  Thanks for the feedback!

Nice cozy game! Love the music and sfx.

My only complaint is that over time it's just become too repetitive and also quite disappointing when I got it wrong. But the Auto button really does helps.

Probably a little break to do something like maybe after we reach a certain daily goal and then we can spend money to get some new decorations will make the game feel more rewarding.

Great game!

It's' a nice and short game.

As everyone said, the camera did need a little work. Just disable the camera movement while reading note.

Cool game concept! I like it.

It took me quite a while to understand how the game works, and the wall of texts for tutorial kinda too much for my brain. Another thing, it would really help if you marked the completed order, and also it might help better if the text and background color have more contrast to make it easier to read.

Aside from that I think this is a good game.

Thank you so much. We really appreciate the feedback. That is definitely be one of the things we'll add if we somehow decided to update the game. 😊

Thanks. For now, the only way to change the layer order is by clicking on the object. The last object placed/clicked on will always be at the frontmost layer. But yeah, a proper way to handle layer order will surely improve the gameplay.

Thanks for playing!

Only get this far. Cool game and nice puzzles. Some are quite easy, and some was really challenging.

I actually like the simplicity of the game. Definitely would have been so much better with sounds.

Cool game!  I like the story and the art style. But I have to agree with the previous comment about the ground tiles. It would definitely look so much better if the ground tiles match everything else.

The levels are quite hard for me, especially after unlocking the wall jump.

It's a nice simple game and the controls are good too.  :)

One thing that might improve the gameplay experience is when the character died, then it will just respawn at the start of the level without the need to enter the password again.

I was actually here for this hint. I was stuck at the password and had tried entering many different synonyms for greeting 😂😂

I’ll try again later.

I like the idea, and it really fits the theme, but it is kind of hard for me. I keep on falling all the time trying to run away from the viruses.

And in my opinion, maybe the list of words should be shorter at start and make it longer as each level progresses might be better. It's quite a jump from 1 word to 3 words at the next level.

The graphic is so good! I really love it, but I'm stuck on the 2nd riddle and that's it.

It would be nice if there's a way to get extra hints or something.

I even try asking ChatGPT for the answer but even that did not help. Hahaha.
Too bad I cannot see the ending.

Ah. Okay. I think I got it. Thanks. :)

Good luck on the game jam!

I'm a bit confused with this rule:

You can use pre-made assets or code you have legal right to use (credit properly).

which I understand but right after that you have another one:

DON'T USE PRE-MADE ASSETS OR CODE MADE SPECIFICALLY FOR THIS GAME JAM.

What does that mean actually?

Can I use paid assets for this game jam?

I guess the game does have almost all of the basic mechanics of a pac-man game.

Looking good, but I think probably the AI for the enemy can be further improved and it'll much cuter if the dogs queue up nicely trailing behind the player.

Keep up the good work!

It's a fun game, but I think the controls can be improved.

I only managed to deliver 4 meals.

Thanks for playing! As for the diglets they're afraid of the light :D

It's challenging and fun. Too bad for the clones though none of them survived. :D

I'd completed all 25 levels. It would have been better if we can see the ending though, but overall, it's a good game.  Oh yeah, the font was too had to read.

I've never played the suika game before, but I really love the gameplay.
Cool game :)

Almost. Just waiting for the webgl build to finish while setting up the project page.  :)

Thank you so much for trying our game! We're glad you'd enjoyed the game.

Sorry for the sfx. We did lower the sfx volume a bit, but I guess it's still too loud. Since it's not really a game breaking bug so I'm not sure if we can upload a fix for that.

Thanks so much for trying our game. :)

Thank you for trying our game and also for the feedback. :)

Thanks for trying our game. :)

Ah. Do you think it's allowed to lower the sfx volume at this stage? since it's not really a game breaking bug. Yeah. I think the music suit the game too. It's a free music I'd downloaded from opengameart.org.

I'm so happy that you like the game. And yes, there's a cheat sheet. You'll need to hold the TAB key.
Thanks so much for playing :)

Yeah, solo dev can be hectic since we need to do so many things at the same time, and also fun and rewarding when you know that at least one people actually play and enjoy our game.  :D

I did a few solo game jam before but for this game jam I'd teamed up with some friends and come out with this game:

https://itch.io/jam/gamedevtv-jam-2024/rate/2748497

It's a simple game but I think is quite fun to play too. Have a try and feedback are appreciated too.

If possible, try to upload the webgl build of your game. Some people (me included :D) are more inclined to test and rate games with webgl.

Hi, congrats on your first game jam! Your game looks really good for a first game jam's submission. It would be great if you have a web version of the game.

Here's the link to our game if you want to try it out. It's a simple game but I think is quite fun to play too. Have a try and feedback are appreciated too.
