Loving the 8-bit art style, buddy! The crows are a nice touch, and the dialogue with the kid had me laughing 😂. The “yams” idea is pretty creative too!.Had some glitches where yams disappeared or I picked them up without seeing them.
Keep it up! And if you get a chance, check out my two jam games too and leave a rating. Would mean a lot, buddy! 🙌🎮
I love that you have a README and License file (main criteria for open source category). Next step would be to change the README from the Phaser template to align to your submission. You have a few things in your submission page, so you can start by adding that info: https://yamcorp.itch.io/yambori and then adding some screenshots too.
Cute as graphics, loving the 8-bit art, would be great to see some music n this game; loving the sound effects. Great job on building the narrative, and rather creative with "yams". Would be good to have slightly more direction; ie. I figured out "E" is action since that's rather intuitive, however, I wasn't sure how to end the game or progress, I had 50 yams and a bunch of crows chasing me 😅.
Great work on your submission.
Very cute graphics, good game
I really dig the looks of it, but couldn’t figure out what to actually do. Faked it for a couple days and then Game Over, no idea why.
Very nice graphics, especially the outside area with the crows looks nice. I also liked the funny dialog with the kid and shooting some crows :). I think I did not fully get how to play the game and how to win. It would be nice if the yams you plant could be harvested on the next day, but they seem to disappear. So I was not sure why I should plant them. Additionally, I experienced some glitches where I just picked up yams, without seeing one. For example at the door, but sometimes also in the field.
Anyway, I think it is a nice starting point for a fun game! Congratulations.
sound effects were fun, and i like the way the crows flock around you! i feel like it needs some other activity to do besides planting and harvesting. it would be good if you got to spend a bit of time inside before going out.
Didn’t see anyone note you can become a Bird Master, but it’s possible LOL :D

I like the game! Cool!
Some glitches were with sounds and son's sprite. But in any way that was fun!
Nice graphics and controls! The sounds are pretty random but cool.
I like the overall game play but the game loop itself is confusing to me. I'm not sure how much I am supposed to plant and harvest and when I am supposed to check on my kid.
The concept was good, and I really liked how you did the AI for the crows and how they flocked to the player.
I like the concept although I was a bit confused on how to actually play, my advice would be too either have a tutorial or make it obvious what the player should do with tool tips.

(p.s. we appreciate your feedback :3 tooltips are good call!)
Nice idea, I like that I can throw my yams at those pesky birds!
However I'm not sure what the point is of planting yams? I didn't feel like there where more yams after i planted some.

(p.s. thanks for the feedback :3 and glad you liked dispatching those crows! Yams currently yield a random # and sometimes it's 0... xD but maybe that needs some tweaking! <3)
