Fun game! I'd suggest maybe making the pop up a bit smaller, or not in the way of the map as I found it obscuring my view sometimes! I liked the surprise of seeing the player evolve into a bigger spider. Really cool!

Fun little game to strategize in. Wish there was more clarity as I was pretty confused and didn't know that I could or how to even win. Took a few tries of trial and error to figure out how the game works.

Simple and elegant concept, although it is not immediately obvious that you can upgrade. Great job, really enjoyed it.

I never did find out what the exit was. But after a few goes I managed to figure out that my spider could upgrade with enough energy.

I’m not convinced I was seeing the whole screen, even when I tried it in fullscreen mode it looked like the view was being clipped at the screen edges. I have a super widescreen and it just showed black bars at the left&right edges and half a tile there.

Developer

Yeah, you can pan the screen around with the arrow keys or holding middle mouse button too! Mostly so you can see around the UI, but also so you can see the edges more clearly.
The exit is all the way around the edges, but you need to gather enough energy to ensure you can escape (eg you need to fill your third bar before you can escape).

Sorry about the black bars, it's a fixed resolution due to the pixel art, kinda time consuming to setup different resolutions for widescreen.

Thanks for giving it a go!

The game was simple and calm to play, and the music helped with the vibe! I was a little confused on what the winning energy number was, since the number isn't on the game page. And my spider disappeared on my first try, so I refreshed my page.

Developer

There is a bug where the spider disappears if you move into something you can't eat
If you hover over the exit tile, it should show you how much energy you need to exit in the Cost 😉

Took me a couple of runs to figure out how to reach the end and get 700 energy, but this was a pretty fun game. Definitely appreciate the heads up on playing with full screen, and the bug descriptions were a bit obtrusive but otherwise a good run. If there's any further development for this game, I'd love to play it!

Like the idea of the game, it's a unique take on the theme!

This game is hard. I love the game idea though. A couple of things you probably could improve on is to simply remove the bubble that shows how much each move cost since it already has the visuals of the animals. You could just show it's cost and gain for each animal somewhere on the screen.

Developer

I didn't want it to be too simple because it would be boring. Seems the balance is a bit off though, as the start is tough, but if you get through it, it's pretty easy going from T2 to T3. Bit more time tweaking the generation algorithm would have helped I think.
Thanks for playing, appreciate it!

Nice game with relaxing ambient sounds, I wish there was more levels!
Couple of minor issues :
- I didn't understand the "can eat" mechanic at first, as the game allows you to go on the bug's tile anyway. The spider disappears but you're on the tile, invisible.
- The UI is hiding some of the tiles

Good job

Developer

The invisible spider is a bug 😊
In looking at it now, I could definitely have built a less intrusive way of communicating the cost/gain data.
Do you mean the hover card obscures tiles, or are you talking about the top and bottom bars? If the top and bottom bars, you can pan the screen to get a better view with the arrow keys 🙂

Thanks for playing, and thanks for the feedback!

Really enjoyed playing, hope there were more stages!

I think showing users the meaning of the bar on the bottom (what spider can eat), and also highlighting where the spider is, would help learn the game rules faster!

Great job!
