Loved the background music, and the throw rocks mechanic. Jumping over pits was very satisfying!

I'm glad you really enjoyed it! :D

The controls feel great here! Good work!

DUDE! I love this game!!! the fact that you actually have to throw rocks at the golems to get them to throw rocks back so you can clear bigger gaps was a brilliant use of the theme!

Great job!

Developer (1 edit)

I'm so glad you love the game so much!  :D
It took me a lot of trial and error to figure out how to use the Theme well. But I'm really happy with how it turned out in the end!  :D

I really enjoyed this game, especially reading the signs! The concept of the rock throwing was really cool and the signs made the game really amusing. Nice job!

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you!  :D
I'm really  glad you enjoyed the game and that you especially enjoyed the signs! (I had a blast making the signs!)  :3

Nice job! I loved playing this little game :))

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it! :D

Absolutely loved the music! You made the theme shine, and perfectly implemented the mechanics according to that! Well done! And the signboards? They just give so much character to your game! 5/5!

Developer(+1)

Thank you!  :D

I did my best to keep everything (art / music) minimalistic (yet still fitting) so that I had plenty of time to execute the Theme and mechanics as best I could.
There's just so little time in 48 hours! ;-;

Anyway...
I'm really, glad it worked out, and I'm glad everybody loves the signs so much!  ^-^

Wow!!! I absolutely loved this!!! Way to flip the theme on its head!!! At first I thought to myself, of course I shouldn't throw rocks at people that's bad lol (especially knowing what the theme is and all) so I didn't.... and then I couldn't make the jump and I was so confused. So then I was like, well if there's nothing else to do I will throw rocks at these things to see what happens. Wow! Unexpected and so good. Really, really good use of the theme. LOVE LOVE LOVE your funny little signs.  The only thing I noticed that I could offer the teensiest bit of constructive criticism about is your sound effect. It has a scratchy ending to it. It kind of hurts your ears lol like nails on a chalk board type hurt.  GREAT JOB!

Developer(+1)

Ha ha, fantastic! I'm glad you loved the game so much!

Coming up with the concept took some serious thinking (and it didn't happen right away — originally the game was supposed to be entirely different until I realized what I was working on just wasn't fun :c ).

But I am thrilled things worked out in the end, and I'm glad you loved the signs so much! (I loved making them!)  x3

Very much noted! (I deeply appreciate the critique, thank you!)
Once I make this into a real game I will be sure to address that problem!  ;D

This is an amazing game, it defiantly deserves to win lol. Great idea and difficult in a good way. I would love to see you make it into a full game! 5/5

Developer

Aw, thanks!  x3
Whether or not this game is selected as the winner is completely up to the community!  ;D

That being said, I am definitely considering  making this into a real game!
(There's just another project I need to finish first!)  :D

This game was hilarious, high five!  And actually pretty fun to play, gettin them big boulder guys to yeet you across the chasm is great.  Nicely done, sign man!

Developer

Ha ha! Thank you, and I'm glad you enjoyed it!  xD

The game's Pretty dang good!

The controls felt clean. I found no bugs (or framerate issues). Art was simple and solid, good use of lighting. The sound worked and felt right. The signs and the story were cool, short, sweet, and simple. Kind of a funny take on the theme.

Solid experience, great job!

Developer

Thank you! :D

I'm glad that you thought that the game was (overall) beyond reproach!
(The only thing I would have really liked to do was make the experience longer... It really was too short).

Phenomenal! The game was amazing, easy to pickup, the art and music were pleasant, and the central mechanic was a perfect theme. The signs were also a nice touch, as well as the raycasting light source. They were completely unnecessary to the base platformer game, but really go to show the extra mile you went to make a great game. Good job!

Developer

Thank you so much for the kind words!  :D
I really am glad you found the game to be so fantastic!  x3

When it came to the game's development, I really tried my best to spare no expense while still staying within the deadline.
And yeah, I totally barely survived.

I would do it again, though!

This is a great take on the theme. It's really nice that you're not "harming" the enemies but instead doing something to them, that they return back to you. Very nice.

I love your scene of humor as well "YEET". It's a good foundation

Nice job

Developer

Thank you! :D

I do admit, simply irritating people is very welcome change from going full-on serial killer like in most games. :D

I wish I could have made a longer game because I really loved writing the signs. :3

I have a lizard irl. He also likes to throw rocks. He and I both very much approve of this game : D

Developer(+1)

I had no idea Lizards would actually do that.  o-o
I'm glad both of you approve of my work!  :D

a simple mechanic, but still a hint of frustration nice work I like it!

Developer

Thank you!  :D

My favorite so far. The mechanic fits the theme perfectly, and I can't believe how polished you got this in just two days!  Great job!

Developer

Thank you so much for the commendations! (I really do appreciate it). <3

Polishing the game wasn't easy — movement and level traversal had not been 100% solidified until I hit the four-hours left mark.
I spent the last three hours making levels, and then I just crossed my fingers on a successful build.  x<

I absolutely loved this game! So polished for a jam, looks and sounds amazing and I really love the take on the theme and how you’ve turned that into a unique and interesting core mechanic! Would love to see this developed further

Developer

I'm so glad you enjoyed the game so much!

Figuring out how to effectively utilize the Theme was truly the most difficult part of making this game (and this Game Jam in general).

I went through multiple ideas in my head and at least one other prototype (which got scrapped) before I settled on — well, what we have here. :)

As for developing this Jam-Game into a real one — I am actually deeply considering it.

One of my favourites thus far! Game mechanics are sweet, game feel is fun and smooth with rock throwing; the Yeet unto others is funny with the golem integration, and over all art style is awesome. i would definitely play this game through if there were more levels. Great job!

EDIT: Just discovered all the other levels. loved it. A++!

Developer(+1)

I'm really happy you enjoyed the game so much! x3
I am thrilled that you approve of the game's mechanics, and that you found the game to be a smooth experience!

Thank you so much for playing me game! <3
(I am also glad you discovered the other levels and enjoyed those too! :D)

Made it to the end! Fun little game, I enjoyed throwing things at people. Nice job!

Developer

Thank you! <3
Throwing things at people is the best.  >:3

Submitted(+1)

Was really enjoying  it up until the next level wouldn't load, love the use of the theme and mechanics. It was a really fun experience :)

Developer

It does that sometimes... :c
(Just reload the page — it'll erase your progress, but the game is really short, so it might be worth your while).

Thank you so much for the feedback!
I'm glad you enjoyed the game! :D
