This was honestly amazing. Really well thought out concept and was very fun and enticing to play. You definitely had to have some patience and focus, but it was worth it. You made it fun and enjoyable. Great use of sound effects here. I also liked the art. Well done!
Glad you enjoyed playing, and thanks for the feedback!
Encouraging feedback such as yours was the inspiration I needed to take this game to the next level. While keeping the concept the same, I've completely overhauled the game - it now takes place in a 3d environment, and has a totally new look and feel. I'm hosting it on a separate page so that the existing reviews & ratings remain accurate to the game as it was released for the jam; the new version is available here -https://dabbymedia.itch.io/submerged. Would be greatly appreciated if you gave it a look :)
Awesome thanks for letting me know
For someone not that familiar with this type of game, I must say I enjoyed this quite a lot !
Can't wait to see a fleshed out version of this :)
Glad you enjoyed and thanks for the feedback!

Not my kind of game, but I can certainly appreciate what’s going on here. It was pretty unsettling to not have full knowledge of where I am at all times, at least not in the traditional sense. Feels like it could be great for a cat and mouse styled mode, trying to avoid a battleship, other sub, or even a shark. Good job!
Thanks for the feedback! I've definitely thought about adding enemies... that may come in a future update :)
I love iron lung and I also enjoyed this! You nailed the feeling of this lack of information, feeling of unknown. the sounds were really unsettling, and it added to the atmosphere. Just really cool!
Thanks for playing and glad you enjoyed it! :)

it's much more immersive this way, and the controls feel better now! nice!
This was a fun game, it actually drove a bit of anxiety for me because I couldn't see what I'm really doing and the sounds and radar are convincing lol. I had fun fumbling around the maze trying to find the exits. The mazes are challenging too, this wasn't what I expected and it was really great. Good work!
Thanks for playing and appreciate the feedback!

I really liked it! Awesome update for the game, I'm really glad I could help inspire you to push this forward. You had it in you all along tho, I'm sure you will continue to make great games!
This is a cool idea. I hadn’t heard of the games that you listed that were inspirations, so I will have to check those out. Like you mentioned on the game page, limited fuel sounds like a good challenge. The difficulty of the game is largely based on the players’ patience, so I think some modifiers would make it more interested (not sure what those would be besides the ones you listed though). I’m curious about what game library/engine you chose if you don’t mind sharing.
Hey, thanks for the feedback! I use Gdevelop. The games I listed (Iron Lung, Lidar.exe) as inspiration both present a unique way of letting the player "see" the game world. They are both pretty great experiences if you are into horror :)
In addition to the limited fuel, one other idea I had was to change the exit coordinates to a number that increases/decreases as you move further away/closer to the exit. That way, it's not as cut-and-dry where you should head to.
