Great artwork and concept! Very cute and fun. My feedback is that I'd consider zooming out the camera more so that players can see ahead more easily. I feel like this is something that's easy not to notice if youre the person that made the maps, but for me I had a hard time know where the next turn would be. Otherwise nice work!
Great game with a very fun mechanics!! I like it a lot!! Good job :D
I have some feedback to give to you for improve the game, so if youβre interested, where I can send it to you?
Thank you very much! :)
Feedback is always welcome!
You can send it via different channels:
- Post it here as another comment
- DM via Twitter
- e-mail: info.bucketfullgames@gmail.com
- discord: ZloUmOE#4510
Youβre more than welcome!! Okay, so I will send it to you here then
First of all, it will be great to have a game mode where you have to race against the AI like Mario Kart games And finally, it will be great to apply a thing than do almost all the race games than are when youβre last the AI go more slower and when you go first the AI go more faster for always make you have to be concentrated
For the rest the game is very great!! So good job doing it and good luck working on it!!
Great, thx for the suggestions!π
In fact, a race mode - and later, also a championship mode - are already in planning and I've also started working on the race logic! It will probably be added with the update after the next one! I've also planned an "elimination" mode and more - I just need a little time to implement everything π
But first, there will be another track and more chairs to choose from!
As for the "rubber-banding": I'm aware of this mechanic but am honestly not a big fan... It kinda feels like betrayal: bad players get fooled into thinking they are not that bad, whereas good players get punished with suddenly faster AI opponents. One of the main inspirations for this game are the Micro Machines games which didn't have rubber-banding and where you had to learn the courses to be able to beat the AI... So I'll rather work a little on the difficulty of the AI than to add rubber-banding π
Youβre welcome!! Oh okay, I understand Itβs very great to hear than is already planned adding a racing mode and different modes to the game :D And now I understand why the game doesnβt have βrubber-bandingβ Thanks for responding my comment!! I appreciate it a lot!!
Hi I was part of the steamers in the Feedback Quest. There's a VOD up of me playing this on Stream.
There's little for me to say about this game. Its simple genuine fun. Its hard and but enjoyable.
My only gripes are that the controls could be better and I WISH this was available for Online play. It would be SO MUCH FUN to play this with a bunch of people on big tracks. Its potential is amazing and I hope you keep working on it.
I hope to see more of this. Please keep up the good work!
Hi and thanks a lot for playing and the great feedback I got from your comment, as well as from your stream! π€―ππ
I'm indeed working on more content right now: Next update will have adjusted AI opponents, 5 new chairs with different driving behaviours, a new track (5th track "Anthony's Home) and a new secret character!
Btw: you can enter 'biggusdickus' in the title menu for a "Swinger's Club mode" πβ₯οΈ
And in the character selection menu, enter "robert", "cthulhu" or "valeria" to play as one of the secret characters π
I also want to enable the players to customize the controls as I know that the current fixed setup isn't optimal. But you can also play with a controller already!
I might take online play into consideration for a later update as I would need to learn how this could be realized first... But I'll really keep that in mind as I also know that this could be very entertaining as an online game - and your viewers seem to have the same opinion π
Send my thanks and appreciation also to ILYA and mayshing ππ»π
ohoho thank you~~ I will use these wonderful codes :D again keep up the good work and I hope to see more soon!
Hello! I was one of the streamers who took part in Feedback Quest, and I'm here to leave some comments I had while playing.
To start, I loved the part where you had to start by running to get a chair. This makes it feel like real life, where you can try to steal the chair an opponent was going for in order to slow them down. The game also plays how I would expect it to.
When I was playing, I was confused as to what power-ups did. There should be an explanation, either in the race or before you go in, that shares what they all do. Some of them I never figured out what they did.
I would recommend giving the player a mini-map in the corner of the entire race track and something to indicate where they are as opposed to the arrows that indicate the direction to go. The arrows don't adequately prepare you in time with the limited view you have, while a mini-map would allow the player to see well in advance where they need to turn.
Hi and thanks a lot for your feedback! π
Due to another comment, I'm actually already planning to add a practice/tutorial track where you'll get to know everything you need to race successfully around the tracks.
The power ups work as follows:
- Blue energy drinks refresh your energy which you can see at the bottom. Once it runs out it's game over, so keep an eye out on it.
- The Turbo Sneakers will give you a 33% speed boost for 3s
- The Wheel Shield lets you roll over rugs and puddles without getting slowed down
I'm also planning to add 2 more power ups in a future version π
I'll take the mini-map suggestion into consideration. Thx π
Can I re-watch your stream somewhere? I'd love to have a link! π
Nevermind! Found your stream! π
I hope you found the permanent VOD and not my Twitch page. XD
twitch - required some scrolling through, but left a follow π
Nice game, but as someone else pointed out, make the AIs a bit worse at racing. I am terrible at racing games anyway, but it would be nice to stand a chance on the first track.
Thx for the feedback!
I'm already thinking about a way to do that! π
It'll maybe be already changed in the next update...
It also occurs to me that maybe your current first track should be the third or fourth track, after a couple of easier ones. For example, have less hazards (carpet and water) to start with, as well as making the AIs easier to beat. Or maybe have a first track with just a few carpet hazards, a second track with a few water hazards, then start combining them, so there is some sort of progression of difficulty.
Oh wow, I really thought that the first track is already kinda easy - not in regards to the hazards but to the overview... But maybe I'll add some kind of test or tutorial track which only goes in a circle and has just a few rags and puddles π€
Thx again for your input! π
Now it's running in the web version - wheeeeeeeee! :D
Fun game, need to try the two players mode...
Only one thing that I would improve: if you are close to a right wall, the player disappears behind it. I understand the perspectives of that, but it looks still a bit odd. Maybe change that?
Regarding the AI, here's a suggestion: make it slower when it's leading and faster when it's catching up! This way the game will keep challenging.
The game is fantastic. It has a vibe of 'Micro Machines' for those who remember the end of the last century! The pace is great, the music is engaging and the difficulty is... well... like in the 90's! Excellent!
Thx for playing and I'm happy that you've enjoyed it! The Micro Machines games have indeed been an inspiration π
That will also reflect the design of some of the upcoming tracks...
Game is very fun, AI is extremely challenging but I had a wonderful time playing this. I spent probably 20 minutes just running through one course! Great work!
Thanks for the kind words! βΊοΈ
I assume you were driving in Marvin's Home? What were your best track and round times?
Did you try any of the other tracks?
Yes I did try all of the tracks but my favorite was marvin's Home! I don't remember my best times but i had a blast. Keep up the great work your game is great!
This is really charming!! I think the AI are pretty brutal tho, I can barely get 2nd on easy mode, so I'd like to see them be a bit more balanced! Got any plans for any other game modes like lapped/timed eliminator or some kind of battle mode?
Hi and thanks a lot for the feedback!
Balancing AI might be one of the hardest things to do! I already recognized that even the normal AI might be a little too strong... Will work on it more at a later point π - a little tip: try to get the power ups first! They don't drive that good when they don't get them π
And yes, there will definitely be more game modes! Race, championship, elimination and "reach the couch", where you have to get to a certain couch before the time runs out are on my agenda. πͺππ
Awesome, looking forward to what's next!!
Thx a lot for the feedback! ππ
Could you maybe make a screenshot of the "text of the browser blocking the play button"? That would help me a lot to understand the issue! Which browser are you using and on which OS?π€
I was always able to play in chrome - be it on Windows or Android...
nice! Thx for sharing your experience with the game on YouTube!
This really helps a lot!
It might probably be enough to reduce the standard resolution of the game on the itch-settings π€
However, there is a fullscreen button on the lower right corner which should hide these texts...
ok, I've reduced the resolution of the iframe to 640x360... Is it better now?
Do you have a zoom in your browser?
The PLAY-button in the browser just didn't work (in the web version). Funny enough, I could change the settings, but just not play...
Oh, that's new for me because I'm able to play the browser version of the game and do that from my PC as well as from my smartphone! π€
I'm using chrome on both
Which browser are you using and on which operating system? Maybe I can narrow this strange issue down...
I've tried in on Firefox (version 109) on a new Mac. With Safari it's the same issue.
Ok, thx. I will look into this!
There will also be a new version out shortly...
Hi.
I've just released a new version. Could you try it again? π
Still the same problem, unfortunately. :(
Damn, that's really strange! And why is only the Play-button affected? π€
I'm already discussing it with some gamedev friends and I'm trying to get feedbacks from other Mac users to maybe get an idea of how to fix this... I will also try another idea I have in mind later today...
Thx for your feedback so far! π
Ok, next try! π
I've removed the direct focus on the play button after launching the game - this is literally the only thing that differs from the other buttons in the title menu - apart from the method calls π
Seems like it was from the links on the itch-page...
I reduced the resolution of the iframe which seem to solve the problem ;)
