Hahaha I decided who could come with me based on the stories/jokes they told me :D Yaaaaay!
Made it only to day 2 T_T

Heck yeah thats the spirit!

It was very funny, hehehe, good small silly game~ Nice interpretation of the theme. In spanish "passage" means the money you have to pay to be transported (bus, taxi, etc)

Developer

I'm grat that you found the game to be funny, which is the most I hoped for! Maybe Charon was Spanish instead of Greek!

First of all, big props to you for keeping the scope low. Some people think that they can make something like Undertale in such short time. You're not some people.

The gameplay is simple and fun, but it gets repetitive after playing it more than three times. The first and second gameplay felt fun though. The music kept changing during each gameplay, which was really nice because it reduced the repetitiveness.

The way spirits made silly jokes was fun too! It made me think of them as real people. The game wouldn't be the same without those lame jokes. The sound effects (spirits saying "yaaay!" when they are allowed on the boat) were also a nice addition to the game.

Graphics are OK. They get the job done, and there are even simple animations! Much better than looking at still images.

Overall its a fun game that gets repetitive after 15 minutes, which is the norm for most games made in jams.  You could add another mechanic to prevent that, if you plan to keep working on this game. Maybe a minigame where Charon delivers the spirits to the afterlife.

You worked and made something in just 15 days, which is a huge achievement considering this was only your second game. You should be proud of your work and use this as a learning experience. I hope you keep making games in the future. We might even collaborate sometime!

Thank you for your detailed feedback!

I'm surprised that you liked many features which at the time I added them I though "people will laugh this and move to another game".

I agree with you about the repetitiveness of the gameplay, I didn't put too much though about it, I just defined some simple objectives and let the code to calculate the numbers, to buy myself some time because I only had the two weekend days to make the whole game :D.

Give thanks to music creators (in the credits), without them, I don't know where to find "free ancient greek music".

About the jokes, that's what I though, it gives faceless "spirits" some characters. Although I'm illiterate, so I went to copy one-liners from a website (in the credits).

Because I'm not an artist, the artwork were  quickly made with pixilart and animated in code. I'm grat that it served it purpose.

Thank you again, I'm looking forward to make and upload more games!

A quite interesting balancing game. But as others mentioned it would have been nice for the characters to have more weight to them. The sound effects are fun and so is the gameplay! Good job!

Developer

Yep, it would definetly give more character if they had a name, age, jobs, etc.  A great point to consider when creating NPCs. Thank you!

Some of the one-liners were good, but I feel like if you gave each spirit a name (randomly assigned) and some title/job (randomly assigned) it would add more weight to the decisions.

Developer

Thank you! You're right, that would give more character to each spirit

I like the idea and found the one liners funny. It felt a bit odd there was no reason to allow/deny people for any other reason than money? Or is there a bit of Greek mythology that I don't know about?

Developer(+1)

Thank you! At the time, it was the only game mechanic I could think of, and definetly there could be more aspects. And don't worry, this isn't a representation of Greek mythology, just a gamification of some well known aspects.

this music is amazing. it reminds me of Factory Town. also, it's hilarious we chose the same theme.

Developer

Thank you! But give thanks to original music creators (link in my description), I just went to Google "free ancient greek music" and these are what I found. I also tried your game previously, at work (don't tell my boss), and it's really good! And yeah, the theme of this jam prompts to contents with the same topic
