Really cool idea! The game is just so much fun! I also like how the music changes when switching the character

Great idea and well executed!! 5/5 fitting the less is more theme.

The art is pleasant, the color palette is serene and giving cosy fall vibes.

The gameplay is simple, easy to grasp, and playing is fun! We probably could understand the game without even reading the description, so good design!

Liked the shader transparent line thing as well :D

Developer(+1)

thank you so much! a lot of the effort designing the game went into what you mentioned (intuitive and simple gameplay, very minimal palette etc) so i am very glad you appreciated all of those features! :>

Just my second game jam, and I can confidently say that I've been out classed here. When I saw the 'less is more' theme I also thought autorunner, but the way we differ in design is where I think this game excels. Just simplicity of the side flip idea takes a lot of restraint, but I think it works well here for a glitch-less, easy to control experience of which your only concern is reaction time which was probably better for the development cycle anyway. The challenge then just becomes the look and feel of the game, which I think was also well done.  This is a well made, grounded experience, with tight gameplay made by talented people. Well made! :D  May I see you all in another jam.

thank you so much!! i really appreciate this comment, it does take restraint as early on i was already having ideas about limiting flips or a 3rd green layer! the fact you feel 'outclassed' here shows that your willing to learn from others, which is a great way about doing things! if you want some advice, id say be aware about feature creep and think about a mechanic and why it's in the game before implementing it.

absolutely lovely comment tho, ill pass it on to the feedback to the others, best of luck in your future jams! :>

(p.s thanks for noticing the control schemes :D)

Nice game!! Simple and cozy color palette. Calm lo-fi music compliments the cozy vibe of the game.

Developer(+1)

Nice and simple. Truly, Less is more! Blinking bats are nice touch :)

Kudos for all the options to control - PS, PC, touch, etc.

Developer(+1)

thanks! the bats were a last second addition, glad you like them!

i am also very glad you appreciate the control options!! it was something i always forget to do but helps everyone enjoy the game their own way :)

Simple and fun! Reminds me of the kinds of games I would have played during my computer lab class in elementary school.

Developer(+1)

oh cool! that was the vibe i was going for, glad you enjoyed! :>

Simple, but fun.  I love how it says 'you died... again' when you fail!

Developer(+1)

thank you! it was originally you died, it's thanks to the playtesters for noticing it so ill pass that on!

I like that you have options for what button you press

Developer(+1)

thank you! it makes me happy to know the settings menu is appreciated :>

Fun little concept. The music sounds a bit weird due to it switching every time you change side.

Developer

thanks! and yeah, i think the effect works less well as the game speeds up, maybe  it would be more suited to a puzzle game without a fast pace. thanks again for the feedback :>

Beat my record!

It’s a nice game, but the striped shader is confusing at high speeds, since we only look at the ghost out of the corner of our eyes, so the brain doesn’t have time to understand where the clone is and where the original is, and the result is confusion.

Developer(+1)

well done on getting over 10k! :D

i completely understand where your coming from, especially since the shape does not change. i may do a small post jam update to add some options to fully fade the ghost or similar.

thanks for the feedback!
