A very cozy and chill little game. I really enjoyed it! Nice job! The music was extremely relaxing.
Thanks, I appreciate it! Thanks for playing :)
this is a really solid game to get made in 2 weeks, would be really interested to see what you could make in two months
well done
Hey, glad you enjoyed it and thanks for playing. Once the jam ends I will be adding more features over time, such as registration, saving player data, exp system etc.
Cute game with a super cozy atmoshpere. Multiplayer got a bit bugged, I was trying it and our games got desynced. But still a really beautiful game
Thanks for playing :)
What happened exactly with the multiplayer so I can try and fix the issue you had? Or was it just out of sync, such as the campfire timer?
The thing to note, the enemies are all client-side and not synced, as construct 3 slows down on sending data back and forth to each client. I wanted to have it synced but it just did not want to play ball with a lot of moving enemies.
We played for about 10 mins and there was a moment my gf went to the shop, and I never saw her move again. She continued playing but I couldn't see her move, and she didn't see me either. I went to refill the campfire and her timer wouldnt update. Maybe we got disconected or smth like that, not exactly desynced
Ah right, yeah sounds like one of you got dropped for some reason. Unless your gf was still visible at the shop, then I might have to check that out and see if I can recreate the issue if I can't see an error in the code. Thanks for letting me know!
The download file is only an .exe file, so the project files are probably missing(?). I noticed the browser link from the game page.
Nice side scroller with really nice artwork and animations. Personally 'S' to interact didn't feel natural (so many games use 'E'), however your key pop-up was a nice reminder. It would feel better to play if the character movement were faster. Not sure how the multiplayer aspect will work...collaborative game? Fishing was the way to make some money as grinding out enemies took a lot more time.
It is a packaged exe file, so all the files are inside it, though I think some antivirus software false flag it, some thing I will work on for future releases.
The movement speed has been mentioned also and I plan on changing this, with an added sprint feature.
I will make sure to change the drops on the enemies so that it does not feel like a grind, also will be adding more types.
Thanks for playing and giving feedback :)
Very cozy game! i really enjoyed playing this! I dont know if its posable to make a web version of this because my computer put up quiet the fight when i tried to download this. It was convinced it was something bad XD.
Thanks for playing. There is a web version linked on the project page for this reason. I think the packager I used may be getting flagged by some antivirus software, will need to look into another product for future releases.
I played this on browser because the exe didnt work for me. But Overall I think this is a very fun and chill game, I like that you went through the extra effort of making the fish swim to your bait, Only thing I would suggest adding is the ability to sprint as it does take a while to walk from one side of the map to the other. Amazing job overall!
Thank you for playing and giving feedback. I will be adding a sprint feature and an exp system so that movement speed will increase.
Awesome job. I love how a campfire heals you and the coffee is like a magic energy replenisher. That's how it is in real life (I live in a forest, true story).
Would have liked the character to move a little faster though. And maybe some quick little sprite to show you made contact with enemies.
Those are pretty minor. Everything else was stellar
A few others have mentioned the slowness. I was going to add a sprint feature, but I got carried away making the fishing part and then realised I had 1 less day than I thought so kind of just fixed some slight issues, although I found more after I submitted, such as the campfire still heals you when its out xD
I'm going to add in all the suggested things and a lot more once the jam ends.
Thanks for playing!
Super duper cozy, upon first play I thought it was just a fun game that you got really ambitious in making, but then Mato pointed out it was a multiplayer game and THATS when it clicked!
We both had a nice time playing the little mmo together :)
This is a really lovely concept, and feels like a great prototype for 2 weeks! Super impressed by the online functionality too!
We both thought it was a nice and lovely experience, super swell job!
-Mopi
Thank you! I'm glad it actually got played as a multiplayer! Did you by chance let the timer count down to see what happens?
No, we werent on for that long! Probably around 10-15 minutes (plus mato got busy chopping wood and fueling the campfire!)
I forgot to mention it in my first comment, but I did want to say this would 100% be a comfort game I could while the hours away in if you continue to develop it, so I hope you do :)
Anyways, what happens when the fire runs out?
Begins getting later in the day with colour changes in the sky, with extra skeletons that start invading the peaceful area. This is why you need to add logs to boost its time.
I'm definitely going to carry it on after the jam and add user sign-up so that you keep your stats. add an exp system so you can get more resources and collect better types. I plan on adding, for example, copper, tin, iron, coal etc and the same for trees. I want to have an actual inventory so you can sort items and use them when at the fire etc.
Awesome!! Consider me a fan :D
Dropped a follow so hopefully I'll see it when it comes out!
-Mopi
Thanks, I'll give you a follow also :)
Really looking forward to trying this one, but the exe just wont run correctly for me. I keep just getting a small translucent box, and the game refuses to boot.
Could be your antivirus stopping it. There is a browser version linked on the game page.
This game was really cute, and i loved the art style.
Thank you! Loved playing your game!
wow, if it's done on time then this game is truly perfect
Thanks, was done in the 2 weeks, pretty much every day I had after work.
wow, if it's done on time then this game is truly perfect
Great job, i like it! It's a cozy and nice game, but, regretfully, u can't fight while moving.
This is such a cute game! You're definitely right that we share similar mechanics, I love the letter popup when you're close to something you can interact with, I think I could use something like that. I think I would have liked the movement speed to be a little faster, it just took a little too long to get around. I thought the fishing part of the game was absolutely adorable, I loved it so much! Great job :)
Thank you :)
There was a lot of things I wanted to add, which I never had time to do, such as a sprint feature which drains MP. I'll have this and other things added to the game after the jam.
Thanks for playing!
Hi, I tried to play the game but it didn't open for me, I am not sure what is the problem, just not opening.
Download or browser?
Hi, now that I've seen the browser option, it worked! Really cool game, I love the art and the music on it!
Thank you :) I loved your game also! Pesky birds xD
I enjoyed trying to figure out how to get money, but I feel like I quickly ran out of things to do. I want so much more from this, I can't wait to see where you take it next. I couldn't figure out the multiplayer aspect of it, but I definitely wanted to leave more time on the campfire than I started with. Great entry!
Thanks for playing!
The multiplayer comes into effect when others join at the same time, the campfire time is synced between all players, so they can help keep it going while playing.
I will for sure be adding a lot more to it after the jam though!
Woah you got a lot done for the jam, pretty impressive! The art and music work well together to create a calming atmosphere. Nicely done and well on point with the theme!
Thanks, kind of spent every hour I had working on it after work xD
I noticed your game was made in construct 3, like mine is, nice to have a fellow constructor try my game out.
Thanks again.
I loved the art. but i did get stuck in the grind
What would you want to see different, I am going to continue development. Thanks for playing!
Nice
Thanks :)
