The sounds and visuals are good, but I didn't like the controls.

Thanks for the clear feedback! Very clear on what we should focus on future iterations/games.

Very ambitious game, great music, cute animations, wonderful scenes. You should be very proud of yourself! The only thing you might want to work on is making the controls more user friendly, otherwise an outstanding job!

Thanks for the feedback! Very clear on what we should focus on in future iterations/games.

Oh...forgot to mention that including the single-screen "how to play" thing was great.  Simple, but important

Movement was really awkward for me.  Pressing up or W would cause the character to studder and go at an angle.  Didn't move smoothly or in a straight line.  Sounds like that might have been just a ME problem though.

Art and concept are cool.  Was wondering why I wasn't getting hurt until I noticed they were attacking the hotel itself.  Oops ;) I like that idea

Thanks a lot for the feedback! Most people seem to get confused with our controls, feedback clearly points out that should be our first priority on next iterations/future games.

Very nice! I got to the end. That final boss has soooooooo much health. Cute art, I love a cute talking bird character.

Here's some small bugs I noticed for your reference when you revisit to polish:)

I couldn't repair the tables to the max number of hp.

I guess since I had all the flower pots the final boss couldn't beat me because they wouldn't attack the two that were left. They always skipped them.  I stopped fighting and he kept doing laps around the room.

Developer

Hey thanks for the feedback,
The repair bug is one we discovered yesterday as well, when you upgrade an unrepaired item, it puts it at full hp, but the total HP counter is miscalculating

As for the final boss not hitting your flower pots, you got lucky with the RNG then, he has wiped me about 10 times while I had all hp :D

Nice! I love the concept of protecting an inn from night-time spooks! Chill music & I'm a fan of the isometric art. I was surprised to see an upgrade/repair system and so many levels. The dialogue breaks with the bald bird were entertaining and built up the world lore quite well! Overall a good entry that has great potential for expansion!

The art and upgrade mechanics are super neat in this one!

Wonderful aesthetic! I found the directional movement super difficult, I was like, "Okay, that monster is over to my left, ah crap, I mean up? Wait, now which way?" Despite the difficulty with directions, the actual movement itself felt really good. I liked the dialogue, too. Was there actually anything for me to do during the daytime except for talk to Toki? I was looking for customers for a while and couldn't find any. Anyway, great music, sound effects, and art. I'd totally work more on this game if I were y'all!

Developer

Hey Kristina, thanks a lot for taking the time to try out our game. We were indeed planning to fill the daytime cycle with more content but had to cut it with the limited time we had. The possibility to switch your directional keys had also come up, and also was cut from the scope due to the limited time.

It's nice to see a review clearly pointing out we had the right ideas planned!

Thanks again!

wow!, this game has vary interesting gameplay ,and an interesting story.

even for a team ,making a game like this in 14 days is impressive.

I actually think this game has a lot of depth to it, maybe you should continue working on it after the jam?

the only thing that was awkward for me was the movement and aiming.

it's also too hard to get the currency for upgrades.

amazing apart from that.
