I just watched your playthrough, thanks so much for sticking with the puzzles and playing it for so long! For some reason you weren’t able to pick up the More important pickups like the glow sticks or the net (which you did find in the chest)! We plan to circle back around and fix that as well as put in a better indication that you did pick up a net (also to add more music throughout the game)
The glow sticks are used to see invisible objects and platforms that are supposed to give you hints as to where to go so it’s a shame that didn’t work for you.
You did get very close to the end of the game though! After giving them the net the end of the game is up that ladder!
Thanks again!
This is cool! I had a lot of fun playing, the controls are very smooth and I like the visual style.
While I was playing I was always tempted to run into the red objects thinking they would be a power up, even thought it's read it just looks similar to the other objects you're supposed to collect.
I would love to hear a few more random options for the sound effect that happens when you collect an object! I like when picking things up in successions generates a little melody.
Over all I liked this a lot, great job!
Super solid prototype. I loved the lighting and the mechanics all worked well. I did like aiming with the arrow keys more than the mouse (because I was using a trackpad) so having a second key for firing the gun would've been nice; like "Up". The game ran smoothly too. I feel like this is already pretty fun, and with some more time this could be taken very far just by adding some more levels and weapons :)
Really fun game, I found myself sucked in and addicted to the pacing of the combat. I played in the browser - Safari. The pacing in the beginning of the game is really well done too, I feel like I got what was going on and put right into the action at a level I could learn at. All the combat was very smooth and I didn't run into any noticeable bugs. The upgrade system was thought-out and I always had enough money to repair my ship and maybe get a couple of upgrades.
I felt like there could maybe be more cannonball drops in the game. I found myself always running out of cannonballs and having to resort to the ramming methods. Ramming into the ships is fun and satisfying but shooting the cannon is also really fun. Maybe I just need more practice...but I felt like, especially later in the game when the other ships that shoot come in, I needed more cannonballs.
Overall a very enjoyable experience! Can't wait to see where y'all take it from here :)
Very nice! I got to the end. That final boss has soooooooo much health. Cute art, I love a cute talking bird character.
Here's some small bugs I noticed for your reference when you revisit to polish:)
I couldn't repair the tables to the max number of hp.
I guess since I had all the flower pots the final boss couldn't beat me because they wouldn't attack the two that were left. They always skipped them. I stopped fighting and he kept doing laps around the room.
Loved the feeling of this one! The low-poly graphics were vv cozy.
As I was playing I felt as if a little direction as to what each customer might like could help. However you'd like to balance the game. I never really knew how exactly they felt or what they liked or didn't like based on what I was doing. There's a lot of creative ways to display some kind of hint to the player that'll still make it feel like a puzzle.
