Beautiful game, love the vibe! Fantastic style and it was very peaceful to swim around *chomp* "oh no!". The sound was perfect.

relaxing game

even got satie on the keys there, nice

ALSO in pure js without an engine, double nice

Developer

Thanks! Yeah we love to use just plain javascript without any libraries, it makes things very lightweight, and is very educational :)

Someone said it best about the Mario Galaxy vibes! This is a really cool concept. The controls are really unique and the world is just so cute! Poor duckies ahaha

Love the aesthetic and it’s a cool game. But it’s crushing to see your ducks getting eaten :|

Untitled Duck Game! Nice! Very soothing but also deceptive...I was like "My ducklings!" the first time i heard a chomp. Wasn't expecting it :P

Developer

Thank you for playing! The herons don't mess around ;)

I loved the little world, but I got so sick that my partner had to take over, hahaha. 12 ducklings were saved!

Developer

Nice job! Thank you for playing! We've since been working on a camera that should be a bit less nauseating, which we'll likely add after the rating period is finished :p

The game looks really good and is giving off some serious mario galaxy vibes :).

Dont know why but struggled quite a bit at first to find the ducks. The camera is a bit disorientating at first but you quickly get used to it.

Dumb question from me, how do you make the game go full screen?

Developer

Glad you like it! Since the maps are randomly generated, it may also just be that the ducks spawned in unfortunate locations for you ;)

The submitted version unfortunately has no option to go full screen, so it makes sense you couldn't figure it out

sadly the game is just a black screen for me but i can see the text in the game

Developer

Hi! We noticed this happening on some browsers. Most versions of Google Chrome and MS Edge should work, if Chrome doesn't you can try to start it in Edge (It has something to do with how we add vertices to the buffers with WebGL, we're aware but didn't get to fixing it during the jam)

Gotta say, I was slightly disappointed when I realized that there were actually no ducks flying around in outer space!  But, I quickly got over that let down with the soothing music and enjoyable gameplay. I REALLY liked the spherical world and art style. However, as others mentioned, the camera was a bit jarring at times. I also was a bit confused why I died the first time I played. Turns out, I hit the land. I was warned about the herrings, but no one warned me about making landfall! None the less, I just restarted and relaxed a bit more as I collected my baby ducks. I think my record was 13 collected.

Nicely done!

Developer

Glad you liked the game despite there being no flying ducks!

We considered adding an explanation to avoid land, but in the end we figured it wouldn't take too long to figure out yourself :p

I really loved the art style on this. The vibe was really nice. What song is that? It sounds really familiar but I couldn't place it.

As others have mentioned, I think the camera was a bit jarring. I was getting hints of motion sickness. I also found it difficult to find the ducklings and probably spent half my time just looking for the first one. Making them stand out more in some way would help a lot I think.

Overall nice job and congrats on finishing this in just a few short days!

I'm glad you like it! The song is Satie- Gymnopédie No. 1, but I think it's used online quite often :p

On the one hand I agree that making the ducklings stand out more would help (I think they sometimes spawn inside rocks and things like that), but finding them, to some extent, is of course also part of the challenge. We might get back to the game and make some improvements after the rating period has ended.

Thank you for your feedback :)

I really enjoyed this game! Going around in circles collecting ducks was very relaxing. Also loved the low poly feel of the game! One comment I'd make is that the camera movement felt very stiff near the planet's poles. But in general, great game!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback and glad you enjoyed it! We agree the camera movement around the poles is sometimes a bit too sudden.

adore this game!
The look is amazing, the gameplay is relaxing but nevertheless captivating, and frankly I like that's not too hard at the beginning :)
Lovable choice of characters and great theme implementation: congrats!

Very nice to hear! We've been discussing amongst ourselves how we'd scale the difficulty, so I'm glad you enjoy the final result ;)
