How does your game fit the theme?
Once a wave end and new one begins, Being the literal representation of the theme.

The inspiration comes from books and how the end of one book can really be the new beginning of another, so we took this idea and turned it into something literal.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
No, the code was mostly from Brackeys Tower Defense Series on Youtube, with adjustments made here and there. The assets were free assets found on SketchFab

Cool idea, art was nice (maybe try to avoid clipping textures), It seemed like the towers struggled to process faster enemies, they would watch them without shooting them which was a little frustrating.

Very cool idea. quite a lot missing that if were added into the game would be very cool, eg, 2x speed or something, selling towers. (also if you put the $100 tower in the middle it doesn't hit anything which was a shame.) great game with potential

Developer

I had plans to make it like a cooking sim where the monsters would drop parts you needed for the towers and then you'd have to run around to different stations to complete them.  But yes 2x speed is so necessary, I wasn't able to play test a lot because I was running out of time and Once I revisited I found that it was really boring just waiting around. I do think my original idea would have solved this issue. Maybe once I get more experience in game dev I will be able to revisit this project and make it much better.

oh that idea sounds very cool, it would definitely add to the intensity of the game and make the game feel much faster without needing a 2x speed since players would be constantly doing something. its good that you submitted to the jam, this is my second game jam and I think that they are valuable experiences in game dev.

This game has so much potential! Unfortunately it appears to be a bit buggy, but I really like the concept!

Developer

Thank you so much! I wish I was better at coding to have resolved some issues i ran into quicker. Small mistakes took a lot of time to fix and I didn't get to polish it up.

Cool game, I wish there was a way to speed up the gameplay because sometimes you just wait for enemies to pass the level, also the library looks huge some props like the chair make me feel really small in the room which is not necessarily bad but just to let you know, the towers were sometime locking to different enemies and resetting their cooldown shooting timer which made them not shoot at all and fast enemies were just passing by, too bad there is no sounds or skybox because it would add a lot to what is already a good game

Developer

thanks a lot for this amazing feedback! The environment was very rushed there at the end, we had big plans for it but sadly couldn't incorporate it. I never experienced the towers relocking on enemies so thank you for pointing that out!

W2ith this being your first game ever, you put a some cool features in the game but I couldn't figure out what to do. But I like it regardless. Great Job!!!

Developer

In the actual post on my page I have a description of how to play, I thought it would upload here but it did not. I ran out of time to make a tutorial in game. The life of a gam jam
