How does you game fit the theme?
The gameplay revolves around a hologram dog that is not real.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I did not. I got the character controller script and some of the art assets from the internet.

Nice games)

Clever idea for a puzzle-platformer. I really like the background and subtle lighting effects.

I think sound effects would really add to the game. Footsteps, jump noises, ethereal sounds for when the human passes through hologram blocks and the dog passes through solid blocks, etc.

I'm not sure I understand you but I like your profile picture.

Very clever puzzle design! The concept is simple but pretty unique, and fits the theme well. Good job!

Thank you so much for the great review, but your game is just on another level. I was hooked on my first round.

Submitted(+1)

Heh thanks :)

I honestly wasn't sure if my game would even be fun because I had no time to fully test it before the deadline, and it relies on a lot of RNG which is tricky to balance... I guess it turned out fine in the end though.

Funnily, your game reminds me of a game I made for another game jam with the pet ghost animal idea, though I had a pumpkin person attached to a ghostly horse.

There was a part where I got trapped but then after a couple attempts, I realised what the actual solution to the level was. It's always good when a puzzle game makes you think about the rules of the game to figure it out so well done on that :)

Developer

Thx😁

I love the puzzle-solving involved in this game! simple and effective, just move the dog through the invisible walls lol is very cute! my only thing is I think I couldn't figure out one puzzle? you gotta jump onto the roof and then swing the dog under the 2 blocks but he just doesn't fit under the blocks, if I could crouch then it would make sense to get the dog under the barrier but I couldn't figure it out. all up it's still a great game!

Developer

Use every roof. The dog can go vertically as well.😉

Nice game, I loved the idea and the graphics of the game. I would really appreciate it if you try my game and give me feedback :D

Happy to be your 20th rater!

Honestly, I have to say you got me at "dog". :) On a more serious note, I really liked the creative way you implemented the theme into the platformer genre, this type of double platforming is not something I see often and I think it can be expanded upon.

Do you plan to extend the game after the jam?

Developer(+1)

I think I'll put the project on the backburner for now, but I might return to it later down the road. The opportunity's always there.😁

Great concept!! and cute dog

Thank you😊

Loved the game! the concept is very clever!

Love the ghost shader u use. Do you have some recommended tutorial for that?

Developer

It's a sprite light, and a sprite renderer on the same object. Play with the opacity of the sprite renderer , the bloom and the intensity of the sprite light. Make sure you target all sorting layers on the sprite light. btw this is all URP 2d.

What an interesting idea, you were able to create such cool "puzzles" or thinking moments due to a simple but very effective mechanic. Well though out, congrats on the game, had fun playing it!

Developer(+1)

I thought the only lacking part were the actual puzzles, good to hear some reassurance that they are at least decent.

Submitted(+1)

Innovative, Difficult, and totally cute.

Also love your take on the theme. The dog is definitely not real.

I would have liked more audio. That is the only area in which I think the game needs improvement. The game is so creative though, this critique is a very very small point.

Great, wonderful job!

Developer

Thank you for the absolute flattering review!😁

Cool game! I really like the look of it and it was fun to play. The movement was a bit finicky but fine once you got it done.

Developer

Thank you, yeah I couldn't figure out how to make the dog fall without pulling the girl with it, because I used the unity built in distance joint, but I'm here to learn I guess.

I agree on the chromatic aberration. I always love that effect.

The art was really nice in general :)

Developer

Thank you😊

I like the concept here, cool idea! I'm also a sucker for chromatic aberration, so that was awesome. Good work!

Developer

Thank you for taking the time to play and comment

I felt bad for the doggo for pulling it around like a maniac, nice game btw, played and rated :)

Developer(+1)

Don't torture cute things. Noted😂

Thank you for the feedback btw.

Submitted(+1)

The mechanic is really creative! GG!

Developer

Thanks😉

Submitted(+1)

I really like the idea and some of the puzzles are really clever, but the part where you have to restart if you mess up is really punishing.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the mostly positive feedback, I'll learn from your critics.😉

This is my favorite game so far! I love the idea and the execution! This could even be a full game tbh.

Developer

Thank you sooo much these are like the most positive feedback I ever got for a game.😁
