In what way does your game fit the theme?
Driving a digger through a town at speed trying to find and kill zombies, all the while trying not to run over the people you're trying to save.

Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes I wrote all of the code, and the vast majority of the assets were created from scratch. Sounds and some ground textures from the Unity asset store were used.

This game was kinda clunky but cool if you can polish it like being able destroy buildings would add to the chaos but overall cool idea

Rate our game Please <3

Brillant idea of killing with a digger, and excellent execution.

I think this is a great game, but I thought the machine moved a bit too slow for my liking. I don't know, it just felt slow and clunky. Otherwise, everything else is very impressive!

Outstanding entry! From the consistent visuals, to mechanics, and game feel this is a very impressive jam game. Trying to figure out how to use the bucket only to get caught on trees or houses was some wacky fun, and the animations and flood of simple zombies really sold the idea of an approaching hoard. My only suggestion to make it better would maybe be adding some background music? Other than that I can't think of any complaints, great work, keep it up!

Developer(+1)

Hey thanks for playing my game and the great feedback, really appreciate it, and don't worry I'm working on a new build with many of the suggestions people have made such as the background music.

wow good game

Please rate my game as well! 😊

Cheers, and already have.

The idea of this game is very random and funny XD Going around with a digger to kill zombies. The execution is nice as well. The controls take a second to get used to because of the crane that rotates seperately (also in the tutorial it says to use ASDF to move, instead of WASD), but I think that is fine! The way the camera was a little bit nauseating to me. Nothing too bad, and I was able to play the game just fine, but I can imagine that some other people might find it more disturbing. (Unfortunately I also don't really know what is the problem :/)

The art was really cool! I have never made a 3D game myself, but when I do I will also start with the lowpoly style. In that case, this is a great example to take inspiration from! I agree with others that a bit of music would have been nice for the atmosphere. A few more soundeffects for feedback will also help I think.

I really enjoyed this! Great job :D

Developer

Thanks for your great feedback, I plan to work on an update next week to address the issues. I would definitely do low poly modeling when learning, you can get something looking ok in an hour or two instead of days, and when it's just you and there's 20 models to make  it makes a huge difference.

This is a very fun game. I really loved the 3d models. I accidently killed some citizens while trying to save them lol. I really enjoyed playing it. cheers! :)

Developer

Cheers for playing, I'm glad you liked it, and don't worry about a few citizens, that's half the fun!

Submitted

I killed all the zombies and saved all the citizens on the second try. But I wasn't prompted to a win screen so I thought more zombies were coming but they never came lol. good job! good game!

Developer

Thanks for reporting the issue with it not detecting the win state, the way that is coded did leave me with some concerns and you've confirmed them.

np bro! my game has the same prblm lol.

Close call, managed to defeat the zombie horde with just one citizen remaining! (I may have accidently squished a couple)

Love the chaotic scenario of controlling the digger and accidentally knocking stuff over etc. Really fun! Cool that you mostly used physics objects (although I did stuck on a couple of things, like trees I think). Pathfinding works really nicely and the zombies made a very dynamic enemy! The citizens might have been a bit smarter and tried to avoid my digger!

Really like the lowpoly graphics, they suit the game perfectly. And you managed to create an impressively detailed little town, with multiple different access points for the zombies! It was very helpful that you included a minimap, though it would have been great if there was some kind of wave timer to show when the next wave of zombies was about to spawn (I had to wait probably about half a minute after the first wave and had started wondering if any more waves were going to come when they showed up). Sound effects were good, the game would be even better with some whacky music to fit the chaotic situation though!

Developer(+1)

Cheers for the great feedback, my plan is to centralize the wave logic so you're not waiting on a timer for the next wave to start which should keep the chaos going and keep the intensity up.

Great fun! Got stuck on a rock for a while but after that those Zombies didn't stand a chance!

Submitted

Great game! I liked that you could even curl in and out the arm. The controls were a bit hard to get used to and I would sometimes get stuck in places. I was fun being able to mow down a large group of zombies in a line.

Submitted

I really liked your game, especially cube shaped blood particles :) I also liked the similarity between our games that is hurting innocent citizens. Good game.

Submitted

Cool concept! I dig it.

The annoying part was getting stuck on stuff. It does not play well with the fantasy of being a construction vehicle that mows down stuff with ease. I think it would be good to make the "broken" stuff not collide with you anymore and make everything about to be knocked down/broken.

Developer(+1)

Cheers for the feedback I was thinking about that very thing last  night as it's a consistent complaint. I don't want to remove all collisions as then you couldn't push a fence into a zombie to kill them. What I was thinking was to destroy any object that ends up beneath the digger which would stop the wheel colliders getting stuck on the objects. I'll give it a go later in the week.

Nice short game. Love to pass over the horde of zombies when they come straight to the digger.
Lovely  graphics and very well design level.
As for the negative side: I got stuck a few times. Nothing that break the game luckily. Another thing that i should reduce is the steering power. Maybe adding an incremental float as a multiplier to avoid steering violently, but without loosing the ability to do it when  keeping the steering button pressed for longer.

But it was a really fun experience.

Great work! Congratulations!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the great feedback, I'll have a go at lerping the input to make it less sensitive to short key presses.

Fun game! I enjoyed the premise of it and it is well executed, the controls work well and the mini-map is a nice addition to the game. I was surprised to see the citizens running from the zombies, that's a nice touch. It was also kind of funny to run over civilians and I'm glad that wasn't a fail state. If you wanted to improve, I suggest adding ragdoll physics to the zombies, I think that would make hitting them even more satisfying and would add some additional humor. Overall, good game!

Developer(+1)

Hey cheers for the awesome feedback. I really wanted to add the ragdoll physics to the characters and I did manage to, however the effect wasn't what I was hoping for, they tend to just fall down instead of fly when the digger hits them. In the end I left it in because it was better than the simple capsule collider physics which often left them rolling around like a Russian doll, but it was disappointing that they didn't fly off the digger and ragdoll over the obstacles in the scene. It's one of the first things I want to sort out after the jam as I know it will greatly increase the satisfaction of hitting the zombies.

Such an enjoyable game about zombies, I do like the digger mechanic good job.

Very fun game ! The controls are unusual but fit perfectly the game c:

It was very fun but I often get stuck and fail to protect the citizens. idk if this was meant to be in the game but some zombies are just standing and staring into 1 person (not attacking).

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, one of the compromises was to just use wheel colliders instead of actual tracks for the digger, unfortunately these have a tendency to get stuck on things. One of the tricks is to use the bucket and boom to push yourself clear of obstacles, even just swinging it around often works wonders. With regards to the Zombie AI I must admit I spent a grand total of about 30 minutes on it so there's probably a few bugs, I do remember seeing what you described on the odd occasion however there were usually enough zombies to not notice.

Submitted

Fun game, unfortunately I got stuck and wasn't able to move anymore.

Submitted

Hah interesting concept with that digger. Sometimes hard to control it, but funny
