In what way does your game fit the theme?
In my game the player is forced to move their mouse frantically and hit the space bar succesively in order to protect the earth by shooting missiles at the incoming asteroids.
Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
I wrote most of the code myself, i did follow some tutorials though. All the art assets are made by me.

Hey nice game! The music is good and the gameplay is decent, it gets chaotic the more you go into it, but the gameplay isn't fast paced enough to really feel like that.

Nice little game! Definitely starts to feel very chaotic around the last wave. It might be nice to add some sort of effect to the asteroid to show it has been locked onto with the mouse, but I managed alright without. Great job!

I did try to do something like that by scaling the size of the asteroid slightly when the mous hovers over it, but maybe thats not noticable ? Anyways sry for the trouble caused due to this, i intend to fix all issues soon and upload an updated version after the rating period π. (Btw i really enjoyed your game too π)
I enjoyed playing the game, the controls became a bit cumbersome to gameplay around the final wave where you were limited by how quickly you could spam the click space combo.
It was well done and a fully realized game so great job. Definitely keen to see you do more development in the future :) Keep up the good work

This was a cool game! The sound was great and the visuals were too! I just think you went a little too heavy with the post processing, which made the game look a little more like a first project. The gameplay was alright but I think you should've given the missile an AoE instead of just destroying a single meteor, would've made it way more satisfying to destroy a clump of meteors instead of spamming space and left click! Either way, pretty good for a first game!

Sorry, it means area of effect, which is an area attack basically
ohh i see now, actually the way i've coded it is, the misssiles will only destroy the asteroid you have clicked on and will ignore all other coliisions. I could maybe add combo attacks in later versions of the game, anyways thanks for suggesting ππ
I loved the after effects you added to the visuals. The sounds were incredibly satisfying too. I couldn't help but crack up to the sound effect that plays when you die.

The concept is really creative, and Itβs alot of fun to play!! The music is a bit annoying tho since thereβs no variation.

Awesome graphics and fun early on. I think it got a bit punishing, and there is no way to actually destroy all those asteroids. Great concept though!

nice game, and the art is nice and cute. But I don't understand why you have to click and hit space bar, why don't you make it so you just click, that would be way better considering gameplay. Also the difficulty is REALLY high, I can't get past the 2nd wave, and usually for game jams you want the difficulty to be pretty low. but it's nice and polished and actually pretty fun. Nice job for your first finished game!

The reason i made it so that u required to click the mouse button and hit spacebar is so that the gameplay becomes "chaotic" and the user is forced to feel the pressure. And as for why the difficulty level is so high, i decided it should be so as thats what brings in the element of chaos as the player is constantly on his toes trying to destroy the asteroids. I agree that the difficulty isnt that good gameplay wise but i think its apt for this specific jam and for this specific theme.

Btw the "bending visual effect" is called lense distortion and is part of the unity game engine's post processing stack. (also, thanks for following me, ur my first follower ππ₯³)
I like the post-processing and the graphics. The game is pretty hard tho. You can make the difficulty a little weaker.

Nice artwork, I especially like the rocket! A little confusing at first to figure out why I needed to both click and press space to get the rocket to fire but other than that great work! Very stable too.
My only criticism would be the music, it gets very annoying by the third loop!
