In what way does your game fit the theme?
Twin Ship Shooter is a space-shooter with the added twist of having two ships to control. They move together, fight together and die together.
Moving them apart from each other makes dodging easier, but being together provides a huge deal of firepower. The gameplay revolves around choosing the correct strategy for every scenario.

Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes, except for the crt-shader, everything has been hand crafted by us for this game jam

The art and music in this game were amazing! I also really liked the mechanic. The only thing I would change is nerfing when the two ships overlap as it's like controlling one longship with double the firepower.

We're glad you liked TSS. It was our first Game Jam and we're glad it came out well ^^

Regarding moving one ship in front of the other: It really is pretty strong currently. Later in the game more projectiles come from the sides, making this strategy more difficult, but the scope of the Game Jam sadly disallowed us to add enemies which would specifically target this. But who knows, maybe we'll polish TSS up at some point and make something fully fledged out of it.

Anyway, thank you for your kind feedback, it's greatly appreciated :D

I'm also very flattered about your praises for the music, as all audio was made by me. Feel free to visit my SoundCloud page if you want to check out the entire soundtrack: https://soundcloud.com/groovygoblin

This was a pretty good game! The art is simple but works to make the game feel satisfying. The music is really good as well! I like the varied amount of enemies that i saw. I also didn't quite get why i needed to only control one character when i could just move them both together and play like that. The only thing i wish this game had was a high-score system. Would be really amazing if you checked out my game as well homie lol

Thanks a lot for checking out Twin Ship Shooter, and especially for leaving such a detailed response :)

We're glad you liked it. A high-score or point system would actually be an interesting idea. For the movement: As the levels progresses the level design gets more and more tricky and makes you consider how to effectively position your ships next to each other. This gets especially important for the final boss.

Anyways, thanks for taking the time to leave such a detailed comment. I'll give your game a go and comment on your submission page when I'm done.

I really like how the rocks break into smaller pieces. Adds so much to the difficulty, but also to the graphics in general. Good game!

What a beautiful game! I really liked the style of it. Great job on picking the colors. What I did was just put them together... but it did seem like it was the wrong strategy :D Good job on this!
