Fun little narrative with a little gameplay thrown in. The shooting can get a little stale but I think its alright. The boss battle was fun, but you can currently "cheese" it by standing on the bosses head. Also it would be nice if the player was able to move with the platforms she is standing on. Overall great job!
The intro looks really cool, I enjoyed how it introduced the story of the game and what’s happening in the world. However, I wish the intro could be skipped instead of forcing the player to watch it all over again each time they die.
Right when the game started, a ton of viruses started floating towards me, and I had no idea what I was supposed to do. I wish I could be told how I’m supposed to use the controls before enemies get thrown at my face. I did not know that the mouse was usable in the game until my second playthrough when I was using a regular mouse instead of the mousepad on my laptop.
I do like the concept of shooting hand sanitizer at COVID, however, I feel like the gameplay is kind of lacking in variety. The gameplay just involves constantly shooting at objects and nothing else. I was kind of hoping for more mechanics, such as slinging masks on to people who forgot their masks, forcing people to keep 6 feet apart by shoving them apart, throwing suspiciously coughing people into plastic bubbles, using a mask-slinging machine gun on mask refusers until they fall flat on the ground with their entire head covered in masks, etc.
I’m having trouble seeing how this game follows the theme of “rewind” at all. What was it in this game that was themed after “rewind”?
For some reason, the game sometimes gets softlocked after killing the first two viruses that appear:
I spent a lot of the time not moving around lol I just found it easier to not use the platforms other than the starting one. overall it was fun but could use a little more meat to it.
Shit went down in Italy, almost didn't save the world.
Also cost me everything for me to realise I could jump using the arrow keys. A meme of a game this lol. I had fun with it and had a good laugh at the end.
Hi, I like the introduction, you forgot to add the collision on the borders.. the player can go out of the screen. Also I don't see the Rewind theme on the game.
If you wanna rate my game is https://misterm.itch.io/mixtape-match , Thanks
Nice little game! I enjoyed the challenge level of it. One thing I would recommend is to have a main menu. Good job for a week!
Really cool game, I love it! The idea is brilliant. To rewind corona time xD And I really love the art too. Amazing game overall!
sadly i am not able to play the game. sorry i cant rate a game i never played
There were a few problems I have had with the game but first, the positives! There were some things I liked:
1) Cutscenes! They're actually pretty well done if anything - though the story is a bit hilarious conceptually to say the least. Love your effort into the cutscenes - amazing how you could squeeze that into a jam if anything!
However I think the rest of your game requires some more polish, here are a few of what I mean:
1) When you jump on the moving platforms, the moving platforms simply move away - it makes it difficult to actually use the moving platforms for manuevarability. In fact, the moving platforms do not add much to the gameplay. Consider that.
2) The lack of a tutorial - many times I thought spacebar was the jump button but it was actually W. I think you should also dedicate an entire level just for teaching the player how to play.
3) Maybe an auto-shoot function instead of manual fire, that way gameplay is less tedious with having to spam the mouse button to kill them coronas. Curse you corona.
This is a very simple game where you defend yourself from the virus but it's very easy, and lacks some difficulty to make it challenging and interesting. It's also not very thematically relevant unfortunately - very good effort and definitely shows promise where it can. I believe you just need more experience - and with more experience, you will continue to make better games! Keep it up, and someday, maybe you'll make a story worth telling to the world.
Kudos.
i am humble for your true review to our game it was first time we made a game and was first jam too , we are considering your points seriously
and trying to improve thank you so much
The cutscene is amazing! The gameplay is fine but you should add some "juice" to the game. I recommend you to watch this video it is really worth it
Short, and its really annoying when the projectiles hit the player's hitbox. Also you could have given more feedback on the player's health.
I like it, you have a lot of potential.
amazing good job amateur
