How does the game fit the theme?
The player must risk his own self to photograph some monsters, in order to progress in the game.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Some of the particle sprites; the bare bones basic template of the top-down movement; and the basic template of a trade system (the way that the player gets gold, not the main store)

Taking photos with the camera is wonderfully matched to the theme. I had a great time playing.

It's really interesting. The completion rate is very high, and the art style is very healing

Really liked the concept, and the whole thing feels pretty polished. Took me a minute to realise the creatures have health, which goes down when taking a picture. I thought I was just messing it up hahah

Really cool concept! Enjoyed dashing through the bushes to get close enough to a monster to get its photo. The game looks great visually as well

Pretty unique mechanic and cute pixel art, remind me of Fatal Frame somehow, though with a capitalism twist :P. The projectile was a bit too fast sometimes, kinda hard to prep a dodge

It was a bit hard to get used to but once I got the hang of it I had fun! Really cool concept!!!

Some of the best art and audio of this jam! Innovative idea for the game! Keep up the good work!

Thanks!

Enjoyed this! I'd say this is well designed for a stealth snap-type game.

Good art work, good mechanics. Nice environment but I couldn't understand how the camera worked or how to defend from attacking creatures, but love the concept, love the animation and graphics. Maybe different upbeat music.

The camera felt a bit too slow, and I got some weird bug that I couldn’t take a picture even when I was able to doo ittt, But all that aside the game was very cozy and fun, I liked how I had to hide to not risk my lives to die

Fantastically done.  I really like this one. Only thing I would say, is the rules on pictures were unclear to me. It took a minute to realize the pictures would drop, and I'm still not sure what decides when they do or don't.

wow great job this was so fun and goofy the gameplay is awesome and i love the cozy art style amazingly done keep up the good work😃👍

Wow really cool idea. Pretty expensive films I had to wait for a refresh until I could get more. Are you planning on expanding the game in the future?

Developer(+1)

Depending on the feedback, i do -- the original idea was a pokemon like game, capturing the monster and what not -- but that did not fit into the theme, so i did this "work around" :p

Love the theme! The gameplay loop of looking for different creatures, photographing them and cashing them in is great (though I don't quite get why the monsters die after a couple photographs haha). And yeah the visuals are just really cosy, could probably just chill in this world for a while. :)

I mean, I could say it much better than Daq_ Vid. I really like the idea of the photo doing damage (even though it took me longer than it should). The game is super polished and the visuals are amazing, the camera shake when walking on a diagonal botherme a bit in the beggining but I got used to it after a while. All and all a very good game, congrats!

Thanks man! Really love your guys feedback!

First of all, this game is very unique. Taking pictures to "damage" enemies gives me Frank West vibes.

I loved the fact that you could actually use the bushes for stealth. It was awesome being chased and then immediately noticing that the enemies could no longer see anything. Each enemy basically has their own HP, and grinding through the enemies was quite the fun task.

But... (And as one has mentioned), This game was extremely, and I mean extremely, grindy. While I do like good simulator games, I did find it really slow that the camera flash and just how much health some enemies had took a bit too long. Yes, there are upgrades for such cases, but that's also what I wanted to see where it could improve.

The quests next to the shop are a nice addition, but they require a specific quota of monsters that you have to search for and find, which is a bit infuriating with a lack of direction. I decided to just start taking random photos of monsters that weren't in either of the quests, which led me to waste a bit of film. Feels a bit punishing for no reason.

Regardless of that, the concept was amazing. Execution could have been a bit better for it to be a rogue-like, and maybe there could have been more direction, but please don't be discouraged! I loved how you put your effort into it, and I really loved the idea.

Good job to both of you! 7/10

I love feedback like yours, because it shows that you actually played the game with your heart! Thanks for the feedback!

The game's artstyle and core mechanics are very cool.

I started dubious, but when I first touched grass and turned a monster to paper in safari mode, I started liking the mechanics.

After playing for a while tho I found the economy system to be pretty frustrating. The frequent change in sell/buy offers, some of which are clearly not worth the money, added to the fact that your film is very limited, turns the game in one where your goal is to amass the most money before suicide, because you keep some money between each death.

This makes it a grinding game where every little frustration and obstacle become a cause for high irritation, because every obstacle may bring you back to your starting point very fast.

So overall, it's a great game but the balance of the economy system deteriorates it so much to me that it highlights every small issue you can find in the game.

Very solid ! Loved the different types of enemy AI and the movement mechanics (bushes, movement with/without camera and all), maybe upgrade prices a little too high, and the full heal as well, felt a little trapped in a "gain money, lose HP, use money to heal HP " loop but maybe that's just a skill issue
