The perspective change was really unique!

Developer

Thank you!

I liked it, really was confusing alot of what was going on, but I really liked how the perspective could change. Good job!

Developer

Glad you enjoyed! You can make some choices, but generally don't die and keep passing levels. The shop items have tooltips, I feel like no many people understand them

Fun little platformer! I liked the perspective changes from 2D to 3D. Great job!

Developer

Thank you! It was a first on many things for me. Glad you enjoyed!

So cool! What I could add, is adding full screen options on itch game settings, and jump curve feels little odd. It seems like player faster go up, than falls down. Great job!

Developer

Hey, thank you for playing! You can toggle on fullscreen from the settings menu but you can't go back once you're in-game so I don't recommend it lol. Also, the player has a different velocity going up than down. I hoped for it to feel better, and it certainly does, but I don't know if it was as intended. You can play the Alpha_1 executable to see how it was by default. I added a few assists for jumping like coyote timer and jump buffering, as well.

just like other mentioned, the camera angle was a bit tricky to deal with. But all in all good job!

Developer

I'm leaning towards making the camera just follow the player if they're too far and clamp it at the minimum value that keeps chasing you if you're too close, so that you're always on view, but are thrown off if you mess up badly still. Thank you for playing!

Nice art and good idea! I like the music, and the lava added good since of urgency.

Developer

Glad you enjoyed, and thanks for playing!!

This game was very fun! My only criticism is the same as others have mentioned below - the depth of field is not the best in the 3D levels. The artstyle is very nice, though. I really like the game's logo and the page. Good game!

Developer

Yep, pretty much. I raise you lighting issues as well. Defiinitely something I'll have to improve upon in the future. Thank you for playing!

It’s challenging to determine the depth of the field at the 3D levels.
Other than that, great job!

Developer(+1)

I know, it definitely suffered from the time constraint.

Thank you for playing!

Fun game!  The 3D platforming parts were very challenging due to the camera angle, so it took a bit of trial and error to figure it out.

Developer(+1)

Hey, thank you! I definitely got very good while testing so I didn't judge accurately, and also due to the 3rd dimension they're definitely harder than the 2D ones. This is something I have a lot to improve yet, but I'm glad that I did because I did learn a lot doing so!

Liked the idea and had fun playing it. The game glitched for me and there were no doors sometime to enter, was that intentional? But overall a solid idea and can be extended further, loved the transition from 2d to 3d as well.

Please play and rate my game also, thanks!

Developer

Thank you for playing! I actually didn't intend for that to happen, I don't know why it happens. I think it's less frustrating if you have enough coins to buy yourself back to life with the shop, but it definitely happened more when I was playing it after the deadline. A lesson to not ignore bugs

Oooo, another fellow Godot Wildjammer out and about! Had to take a look and love the assets y'all have. Also do like that it is both a 2d and a 3d platformer. Super clean and arcade-like vibes! Will say, the resolution and pixel rasterization is lil' hard for me to see clearly for 3d platforming. Those 3d sections were very tricky for me since I didn't have like a shadow or a marker underneath my character to tell where I was. That shopping concept was also an interesting touch as well, but I didn't really understand it much (other than it bringing me back to life).

Either way, cute lil' platformer y'all got and do keep up the good work!

Thank you for playing! Yeah, I was originally only planning to the Brackey's but it matched with the Wild Jam and I was already going to use Godot, so might as well. Also, the multiple themes helped a lot.

The 3D is definitely rough and a pain point for many, I think the lighting really makes it worse, I have to improve on that. A shadow would be cool yeah.

For the shop, you can hover over the cards to see what they are, but in order: 1) let's you restart the level, 2) let's you start from any level you have already played, and 3) let's you lower the speed of the map. For the theme about erasing, it's like you're erasing your mistakes ;)

Super cute! I was not expecting that change in view (if you know you know :) ) Super cool and creative!

Awesome! Thank you for playing! It's a mechanic I've wanted to implement in some of my games for some time now, and I finally did. Pretty straight forward actually. Although I have a ways to go when it comes to lighting

those are the best kinds of mechanics! Simple yet effective :)
