How does your game fit the theme?
Metaphorically speaking, what's behind the door is freedom and independence (incredibly corny, but still). In this game, you try to escape the office you are working at by smacking your co-workers with a door out of pure insanity. You want to escape because you can't take the repetition and lack of freedom in that office.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I wrote all of the code myself with the help of tutorials and made most of the assets and animations. I ended up using a low poly computer desk set from Sketchfab to save time on modelling, which I modified to fit with the game's art style better.

I love the slight pixelation and UI. Amazing job!

The art/graphics and UI look great. The audio is alright but needs background music. The gameplay is fun but it makes me dizzy maybe because of the camera shake.

Developer

I was originally going to add music, but I wasn't able to find anything that fit the game's style and aesthetic well enough before the deadline. But thanks for the feedback about the camera shake

Incredibly polished and satisfying game but it was not safe for work lol

That was quite a fun little game! Took me some tries until I could defeat them all, as I got overwhelmed by too many employees at once in my first rounds. The combat is fun and I also really liked the graphics and sound effects. I think this game would also be a great base to develop further with some more rooms and mechanics and maybe office like background music. Overall great game, it's very well done! :)

It's sooooo fun to play, and feels so great , all the screenshake, the particels and visual effects felt soo good

I definetly like, how polished this game is!!!

I'd love, if you'd also rate mine :)))

fun to play but I'm too bad at it  ._.

The game design was great, it felt a little quiet because of the lack of music, but overall it felt super fun to play!

Developer

yea, music was one of the things i wanted to add to the game, but i wasn't able to find anything that fit well enough with the game's aesthetic/style on time :(

Good game, the design is great, not a fan of not having music but all the rest is very good with focus on the UI was amazing!! Really loved overall!! Also something, I think that would be even better if it have 1- a indicator to enemies out of scream attacks, 2- more clear hitboxes. Even so its very awesome game! Congratz!

Developer

i agree with the hitboxes. the more i screwed with them the more i realized how buggy they were, but im not 100% sure on how to fix it. i put the hitboxes up on the Known Bugs section of the itch page when i submitted the game.

But thanks for the suggestion for the indicator :)

Im exited for the future projects! Suggestion: Make the animation indicate with very clear attacks, maybe make a red indicator of a incoming attack or maybe some mechanic that make sure to give feedback for the player so they know how to react. Would make more fair and skill based.

I love the creative main menu and the overall game, the graphics and UI are great. The combat is solid, slapping the enemy away is very satisfying. But I think sometimes enemies might get stuck, which leads a tons of enemies when I change my position and suddenly get overwhelmed by enemies. Overall, it's very good,

Very fun game! The combat is very satisfying, the audio and graphics feel very polished. Love the main menu, very intriguing. My only suggestion would be some sort of way to restore health, but that might just be a skill issue from me. Overall, great game! :)

I like how you can slap the shit out of the other co workers with just a door. The graphics are really cool too and it needed some background music and or maybe an background ambience just that isn't quiet all the time, but overall it's a cool game, it would be cool if you can check out my game too.

Great art style and UI. A very polished game! I'm guessing you don't really like your co workers!:D  I like how they go flying when you hit them. had 10 co workers left in the end :/

Submitted(+1)

I think the menu is very creative, I like the "Press Escape to go back to work." The farthest I got was 5 coworkers left.

I think the game could use some powerups of some sort, or at least a health pickup. I also think it would be cool if the environment was a little more destructible.

Overall I think it has a lot of potential.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I feel like having power-ups in the game would sorta destroy the corporate and soulless vibe that the office in the game gives off. Thanks for the feedback though!

A door fighting game? Super creative, love it!

Very fun game, I enjoyed it!

Really engaging game with fantastic 3D art and innovative gameplay. While there's room for improvement in hitbox detection and enemy AI, the overall experience is fun and satisfying. The visuals and audio create a great atmosphere, though adding background music could enhance it further. A bit more polish on combat mechanics could make this an even more enjoyable experience. Great job on creating a unique and entertaining game!

Finally i'm fired, I will now follow my dream to make video games.

The visual is great, and the gameplay is fun, however it could get some improvement, but it have great potential. Your attack range is too shorts, the enemies can be really close but still not touching them and the hitbox / raycast detection seems to have some bugs. You can hit a co-workers you were not aiming who was behind the one you want to attack, and sometimes is not even in front of you. Some hits are simply ignored.

I think you should spawn co-workers from the black textures, because actually they can spawn on you, plus you can go behind them when they spawn and they will do nothing, you can even use them as human shield. Sometimes co-workers teleport or get one shot and just deseppear.

Also they seems to spawn depending of your position, if you're too far they don't spawn and don't react., When i am in the middle i can have a horde of co-worker, when i'm near the doors nobody spawn.

It would be fun to be able to hit many enemy at the same times !

Footstep sound for co-workers  would be cool, sometimes you're getting hit but you don't know why because a co-workers is on your back.

Audio can be improve, with a good music for example, not a huge fan of the background noises.

Minor issue: The game tells me  like "6 co-workers to-go" but there is more like 6, it means you can leav when there still co-workers, but the note say that you wiped out everyone, lies ! Also they will wait forward the door since they can't change room.

It's a good game, with some more polish and debug it would be even more satisfying !

i agree with most of the statements you made. The more I messed with the hitboxes, the more I realized how bad they were lol, leading to the many issues you stated, even the one where you can't hit several enemies at once. I tried to fix them several times, but I'm not sure how to without redoing the entire enemy and player scripts again.

And about spawning the co-workers from the end of the walls, i already tried doing that, but then they would just bunch up there until the players walks across the room. I programmed to spawn the co-workers randomly at 4 areas every 7-15 seconds or so. I'm also aware of there being more co-workers spawning than the counter says there is. All that counter is saying is how many you have to kill to be able to escape. I again tried to fix this, but didn't know how to.

Music was one of the things I wanted to add as well, but I couldn't find anything that fit with the game's style and aesthetic on time

Thanks for the extensive feedback though :)

Very fun game! Love the art style. Was a bit difficult to figure out the attack range of the door, but that's my only nitpick. Awesome job!

Submitted(+1)

Lol, got so close, the very last coworker got me. Strange though he was on the other side of the room when it said I died though, hit boxes feel a little off. Otherwise that was really fun, I like the graphics and controls feel good.

Developer (1 edit)

thanks!

and i thought i fixed the bug where enemies could "hit" you even when they're not near you lol🫠. i recently found out that if an enemy is stuck between a wall and a box , it could still deal damage to you (not 100% sure though.) ill add it to the Known Bugs list on the Itch page
