Great job! I really liked the non linear levels. I got the true ending.
Really good horror game! The way it peaks at you at the end of the hallway and when you see its shadow through that "window" was really creepy.
My only concern is that the final jumpscare didn't live up to the expectations I had formed based on the previous 2 teases. And don't take it in a bad way, it was scary, it was just not as itnteresting and original as the previous 2.
Besides that, the game was really polished and it scary!
Yes, it seems like the bad ending is the most common that players got. This is a level design problem that let the player doesn't understand why the jumpscare exists.
Great shadow monster and twisted screen ending! Quite fun, but on my poor little laptop screen I couldn't see anything in the dark.
The details and game content are surely better than mine! Great job on the game!
It's really kind, but I can assure you that are some elements you made I would have liked to integrate in this one ! ;)
The twist was not what I was expecting haha, but I mean that in a great way!
The twist? Which end? 😅
Really solid entry to the Jam, love the twist on this game!!
Thank you! Which end did you get?
there are multiple? I got the one where everything dissolves and it talks about being watched.
Ok! That's the true ending ^^ Pretty everyone seems to get the bad ending 😅
after you asked me I checked the other reviews and realized I was special XD
that's what i call a twist xD
I got the so f*ing yumpscared xDDD
really liked it :)
I'd love, if you'd play and rate my game as well :))))
That was scary! I'm definitely weak when it comes to anything horror but I really liked the twist. Though I only got the bad ending as well, I still enjoyed it, good work! :)
I'm sorry you got the bad ending, it is definitely the most terrifying one. The other is not so scary. Thank you still ^^
I shit my pants. I hope you're happy :D :D :D
OK, no, but I actually almost fell backwards with my chair.
well done
GG
Actually, yes I'm happy. But this ending was not meant to be the first players would faced 😭
I keep playing your game repeatedly, only to discover that it's not so easy to end. When I switch off the lights, it becomes really creepy. I get scared when suddenly I encounter that creepy creature. I am playing this game at night, unaware that it's a horror game; the sounds are truly frightening. However, I can't figure out why there are so many doors, none of which open. When I get jumpscared, I exit the game; that's it, game over.
Making the game creepy and getting that ambiance were our main goal.
The jumpscare you are talking about is what we call the "bad ending". The "true ending" can be done by not turning off the switch that displays the window. This way, you will see that you are "stuck" in a loop. And you must go backward and enters the room by the opposite of the loop. We are aware that too much people are getting the bad ending only, and don't go to the true ending after... That is a level design problem...
I played it, it told me to close the game, I closed it. I genuinely thought that was it until I looked at comments LOL. Turning off the light and making it all creepy is a great idea, I thought the atmosphere was genuinely very scary and the graphics were beautiful. I think revealing the monster in the middle actually made me less anxious, because I had no idea what I was going up against until I saw that. Once it appeared and I saw the shape, the monster didn't seem that scary and a lot of the tension went away. Overall though great job and thanks for the heart attack at the end!
Thank you for your detailed experience. It is very important for us to understand how people played the game, because it is our first horror game.
There are several reasons explaining the monster art: 1) I’m not artist, so I’m bad at drawing 2) the design is related to the story which begins in the game page description, and ends with the real end (it seems you only got the bad ending)
I saw your comment so I went back to play it again and got the "good" ending? I'm not one for skipping content, I think I explored it all now. The scene with the door was really cool so I'm glad I went back to check. Also, I don't think the monster was drawn badly at all! I didn't have an issue with the art, just that the monster might have been shown too early. Not knowing what the monster is + not knowing the capability/intentions of the devs + a really creepy environment made it super tense, and some of that tension was lost in the hallway reveal (at least for me).
The atmosphere you created was apt great horror game. I thought i finished it :D
Depending which end you got ^^
Very good looking game with immersive atmosphere! good job !
Thank you, our focus was on the lighting, SFX and confusing level design. So it's a success if you liked it ^^
That made me jump.
Ahah sorry, I hope you enjoyed the game anyway 😅
I really like the start of the game and the sudden change into a different atmospherical hide-and-seek corridor.
Great, that was totally our goal. A brutal cut with a bait at the start of the game (backyard). Glad you liked it 😁
I would say average child memories right. I totally didn't got scared of the jumpscare at the end totally not. I like the idea of the game it's very good and I like the outline when it's black. It gives like a sort of a cartoon style. Also the mirror is totally cool you look inside and you see the shadow and when you really look it's not there and why it's so cool is that there is a myth that you can see ghosts only in mirrors but not in real. It would also be cool if you could rate my gamme too pls.
Ahah this end seems to be the most terrifying one. And it's not a mirror, it's a window ; maybe the material used, and the level design, are not intuitive and readable enough 🤔
Very atmospheric. I liked the art of the backyard!
No way you liked the backyard 😂 I'm programmer, I really bad at art stuff
Thanks for playing though
Awesome atmosphere and really intresting ending
Which one? 😉
