How does your game fit the theme?
There is thematic dialogue and metaphors referencing the theme.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
No LOL. I like to do that, but I ended up using QUITE a few assets to compensate for my lack of visual skills. I credit all assets used.

Interesting game, very nice effects and attention to details.

Good game! My text was getting cropped out! But that might have been an issue with my computer.

Developer

Oh no! It's not just you. Some people have had that problem, and others have been fine. I've fixed it for the post-jam version, but can't upload yet. Glad you liked the game though.

Very pretty game and great audio, lots of attention to detail here!

Really impressed with this submission, the only issue I encountered was being seen through a wall and having to start over, but then I got to have a chill furniture arrangement playthrough. Feels very cozy with an edge of mystery, nice work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! Glad you liked it. Yeah the xray vision from the AI is definitely a problem o.o I think I've fixed it now though, just waiting for the jam to end so I can publish it.

We passed 20 ratings! Thanks for all your feedback. The post-jam version is in development! So far I've:

-Made the player directions more obvious(W goes up in game space instead of up and to the left)

-Sped-up walk animation

-Made minor adjustments to hopefully prevent the AI from seeing you through walls

-Added stealth tutorial

-Fixed UI Scaling(resulted in unreadable text for some players)

-Working on more...

This game is very polished for a game jam! The graphics and aesthetic were great and I like how there was different endings. I was struggling to avoid getting seen, so I tried to corner myself in with some furniture and I got fired for blocking the door, I guess because the path-finding agent couldn't get to me lol. Great work and and EASY 5 star in audio for the beautiful singing.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah I realized during the uploading process that if somebody were to try to cheese the stealth they would get the blocked ending. Definitely not ideal haha. Glad ya liked it though :)

I absolutely love how this one looks! The pixelated effect is really well made, and it really adds to the game. The only thing I struggled seeing where the tiny plants, but the zoom was handy for that. However, I was unfortunately unable to hide even once! I don’t really know where I am supposed to move to. The guy always find me. I’ll probably try it again a few more times, but that’s been the situation for me so far. I am really intrigued as to how the game ends!

The music and the sound design were both pretty nice, but I wish there was some way to turn the radio off.

Hey thanks for the feedback.

Sorry that you're struggling with the stealth part. The AI will path to 2 random points, then to the position where the decorating mode player is, and then back to the door. At each point, he does a 360 spin and he'll catch you if you're directly ahead, or if you're right next to him. My strat is normally to set spawn in a hidden position, then move to a different hiding place that isn't visible from spawn. Can be tricky though. You set spawn by moving the player in decorating mode.

Hopefully, that helps a lil. Glad you like the game :)

That’s definitely helpful! I’ll try it again. Thank you for the response!

Managed to escape! Thank you for the info. I couldn’t manage to find that out myself. I always stayed at the same spot where I spawned, hoping he wouldn’t get near. And he did every time! I was starting to think he always headed towards you nevertheless, but it was because I stayed, lol. Really interesting story!

Developer(+1)

Awesome! Thanks for stickin' with it :)

Fantastic work! The art style, music, sound effects, and dialogues were all spot-on.

Thanks for submitting your game to the stream! If you wanted to look at the vod again in the future here it is timestamped to your game

Developer

Cool! Thanks again for playin' it on stream :)

It's a pretty interesting game, the idea is cool, the graphics are good, the sounds and music are great! Good job!

Developer(+1)

thanks! :)

The game was nice, the time between playing was a bit too long, but apart from that it was pretty cool! Well done!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, did you realize you could move in the bit where you couldn't play? It's a stealth segment.

Submitted(+1)

As an Unpacking and horror fan, this game was really easy to start playing, and scratched all the right itches. I think the only thing that took me a bit was the rotate buttons system. I like scroll, but I think “R” should also be an option :)

Developer

That's great to hear! I'll make sure to add R for rotation if there's a post-jam version :)

Honestly the story part was lost on me, also I’m not sure what the objective of the game is or what the character does. I ended up making a comfy place to watch a tv on the floor while my character stayed in a corner and then I lost the game for some reason.

Additionally he time between playable moments is way too long.

The graphics looks nice and the music is cool, loved the singing in the background. I think a tutorial or introduction would improve the game greatly.

Developer (1 edit)

thanks for the feedback :)

On the subject of a long amount of time between playable moments, did you not realize you could walk when the package guy came out? This part was not tutorialized, but it is crucial to move around at least a little during those parts.

Submitted

Oh, I definitely did not realize that! Maybe that’s what I missed

Ok, played it again and realized all the dialogues I found confusing were because I kept getting seen. Once I started hiding I completed the game and must say it was very interesting and thrilling. I even understood the plot. Also noticed the singing was from the radio, still loving that. Good work!

Developer

awesome! Glad you liked it :)

I'm not sure I got the plot (my fault, too stupid probably), but the game overall looks really good. I love the zoom mechanic, the sounds are also really good and the story is really well built. It's a really interesting to introduce the theme.

As a complain I would say the animation for the man is too slow sometimes.

Developer(+1)

Hey! Thanks for the feedback :)

Yeah, I realized after submitting that I forgot to speed up the walk animation so now I just pretend they're taking really long steps and wearing those shoes with wheels on the bottoms lolol

Submitted

That's a good way to see it haha
