Ranked from 30 ratings. Score is adjusted from raw score by the median number of ratings per game in the jam.

How does your game fit the theme?
The main setting is in front of a door, leading to an unknown location.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I did write all of the code, made the music and sounds, and edited the images. Although the original images aren't mine. The licenses allowed me to use them, though, and they were rightfully credited.

The font used in the game is PixGamer (CC BY-ND 4.0 DEED), by Bryndan Meyerholt. I forgot to include it in the game credits, but will do it right after the jam.

Not bad. Good music and visual, but boring :(

Developer

I suppose it is not for everyone. Thanks for playing, and for the sincerity!

Excellent stuff! Music and visuals were correctly lo-fi for the tone of the work I think. When the high pitched synth came in right at the climax of the story (dunno how you timed it, or if it was just a happy coincidence) it made the story so much more impactful. Well done!

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you for playing! It was definitely timed, hahahaha. Glad you noticed it. I wanted that synth to enter at that moment, but didn’t really know how to do it. So what I came up with was playing them since the beginning at an extremely low volume as a separate track. When the right time came, I just increased its volume to a normal level :). There is surely a better way to do that, but it’s what I could do with the time given. I think a fade in would’ve made it even better, but I didn’t have time to try that out either ;_;

That was a sad story, really liked the vibe. Visuals are awesome even though there aren't many of them. Sounds are not bad too :)

Developer

Thanks youuu! Yeah, I originally thought of adding more images, but dropped the idea because of the time it would’ve taken to make them ;_;

That was so good, nice visual, nice concept and great music, great work.

Developer

Thank you so much! I am glad you liked it (:

I enjoyed this game. It was short but it was great. The visuals were nice and the sounds were very calming. I think it also tells us an important message.

Developer

Thanks for playing! I am glad you liked it. I felt that if the game was longer, it would probably get tedious. Though maybe in the end it came out way too short

You created a really beautiful atmosphere and moment to pause and be grateful for life :) Thank you for making this experience, I really enjoyed it!

Developer

Thank you for your comment and for playing the game! I am really glad you enjoyed it. I really enjoyed yours as well <3

🤝Hello fellow visual novel-er! I really liked the story you had here and I don't mind that there weren't a lot of moving parts or fancy images. The text was enough to bring forth that emotion of sad-happiness and I read this aloud to my little brother since he wanted to watch me play some games haha. But because I did this, I got a little bit more emotional I think after thinking about actually being the player in the story :,]

Overall a really short and sweet visual novel about the mortality of humans that I enjoyed!!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for playing and for such a wholesome review! I got emotional too when I showed the game to my girlfriend. Guess having people you love around you makes you really consider what’s shown in the story :’)

The graphic part of game development is definitely the one I struggle with the most, so there certainly is work to be done there! Glad you could enjoy it in spite of that. And I hope your little brother liked it to <3

Very different. A cute little visual novel.

Developer

Thank you for playing! :)

Great experience, I found myself crying.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for playing and sharing your experience. I hope it was the good kind of crying :’)

Loved that we shared the same idea for this theme just in different ways. Makes me happy seeing the usage to be more emotional and story heavy. Good job!

Developer

Thank you so much! I feel like videogames are an incredible medium for story-telling, as they allow you to involve the players in it and get really immersed. So it’s a quality of videogames that I like exploring c:

I hope I am able to play your game fully soon! <3

Very nice little atmospheric experience. More of a story than a game, but I do love me some stories.

And I really valued the message. Thanks.

Developer

Thank you! Yeah, whether visual novels are games or not is debatable, I agree. Hahahaha.

I am glad you liked the message! c:

Perfect atmospheric game with great visuals,  it was fun playing it through twice to see all the options!

Developer

Thank you! Especially for getting all of the content. I am glad you liked it! :)

This was such a lovely reminder of taking the time to spend your time well with your loved ones, was much needed for me. The visuals were also incredible! Thank you for creating this :)

Knowing that the game reached someone who needed to play it fills my heart! Thank you for your kind comments :)

Awesome simple and relaxing. Great idea for the theme!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I am glad you liked the idea for the theme. In the end, doors are nothing more than structures that give way to another place. So I felt that using one as the main image fitted just right for this little story :)

Even though it was short, playing this felt like a meditation. Lovely art style as well. Can't wait to see what you make next.

Developer

Thanks a ton! I did want the game to make you feel a little introspective and self-aware, so I am really happy that playing it made you feel that way <3

Very relaxing experience, with a well-written and touching message, great work with the graphics and sound design. I especially loved the conclusion. Well done!

Developer

Thank you so much! I wanted the game to end with a good message, so I am glad you liked how that turned out <3

A short but touching story. I forgot where I was for a few minutes. Thank you!

Developer

Thank you for taking the time to play it! I am trully glad you could get immersed in the story, even if just for the few minutes the game lasts c:

Damn dude, that was a good read. The art mixed with the soft music and text sounds was very soothing and atmospheric. Good writing and I enjoyed the small journey.
