Bosses lack variety in their attack patterns. As for me, the first boss (Any boss) should not endlessly throw projectiles in different directions (Even Hush from isaac doesn’t do that). I liked the upgrade system. Everything is intuitive and interesting. It would be cool to have some kind of dodge, or a mega bomb that would destroy shots, like in the old games (This would solve the problem of the first boss). Overall the game is good, I liked it.
5/5. Amazing music, super fun gameplay and implementation of theme, loved the art, and really cool boss designs. One of my favorite games of this jam! One critique that I have though is to maybe add an arrow at the edge of the screen pointing in the direction of the boss so it's easier to find. Besides that one small thing really enjoyed your game. Good job!
That was an amazing bullet hell. The game is extremely polished, the tutorial is nice, and everything about the UI feels right. The sound and the effects (like the shaking when you start a boss) all feel amazing. It's quite difficult, but that's juts how bullet hells are supposed to be, it's not called "bullet-wak in the park". Great job!
I love astronomy so I really liked the star names you threw in there. The only problem is the difficulty. It was way too difficult. But good visual effects and music, I also liked your use of theme.
The art is great. I love all bullet hell games and this one was no exception. I enjoyed playing it a lot. Good Job.
Nice little bullet hell game.
The upgrade system is neat, and I can see that there are a lot of options and synergies there.
The controls felt nice, although the player goes from zero to full speed even on the tap of a direction and that feels jarring sometimes.
I don't know how big of a hitbox the player has, but some hits felt pretty unfair.
All in all, good game, nice systems, good patterns.
Thank's for the feedback and for playing the game!!! The hitbox is the little point that glows when you're in focus mode, I sometimes felt that it was a bit strange as well, I don't know if it was because of some bug in the custom collision code to make the game able to handle more bullets or because of visibility issue where you can't see bullets coming. As for the speed, I tried a lot of configs during playtest, that one was the one that felt the best to me, but some people said it felt strange so I migth look into that in the future. Anyway thanks!!
I really like this painting style, and the visual effects are also great
The Boos's design is very interesting, but sometimes I can't see it
Very cool art style, I played several times but only managed to beat one boss. If you're up to the challenge, very fun!
Cool style to your game! The mechanic to graze bullets is quite hard and felt impossible against the homing bullets. Otherwise good job!
I found the game a bit difficult, but on the other hand I generally suck at bullet hells. I did try a good amount of times, and at least the bosses I saw were pretty interesting design-wise. I also quite liked the upgrades, they were more complex and interesting than I was originally expecting.
Damn, I found this incredibly tough, I wasn’t able to beat any of the bosses (excluding the tutorial), though I saw a few of the different bosses. The bosses all felt fair, but definitley too tough for me, I’m not particularly good at bullet hells. I appreciated that the game started off with a different boss each time so I could at least see their patterns.
I like the different upgrades you can get in between stages. I only saw the first set of upgrades but the tradeoff of health/energy for a stat boost was neat! I really like the overall style, with the boss ‘scream’ intros and the chromatic abberation effects. Nice job!
Thanks for playing the game! It really means a lot S2!! I'm sorry that you couldn't get to beat it, bullet hells are really hard to balance for those that are not into the genre, this became very clear, when I was developing the game I was thinking the bosses were too easy, just for my playtesters come and say that they were impossible. I'll be taking that into consideration when making other games in the future.
I really like the investment that comes with certain upgrades, particularly the backward-shot extra-damage upgrades that pay off immensely if you can get two of them. Bosses were a bit tough for me, and the fights felt like they were taking a while as openings can be rather few and high damage doesn't come without a lot of consequence, which does make sense. In the end, my persistence was rewarded, and I had a good time, so nice work!
Had fun playing it! I like the use of the theme it feels unique and original! The art was nice and the boss designs were good as-well specially Vega; I'd say the bosses where pretty balanced except for Vega, he's basically a bullet-hell lol; The music was nice but I feel the menu music could do some work. Good job!
