The game is in a rough state which makes it hard to enjoy. The physics are not consistent and therefore not predictable making the collisions make me go "Wait, waa..." I tried all the buttons, clicking everything, and trying to escape that second room, even following your instructions but could not figure it out.

It's unfortunate because the graphics are really nice and I think that if you spend time making the controls/physics more tight (there's a level of control that we've come to expect from games that share platforming mechanics), fixed the layering and sprite ordering issue, and added some sound and music this game could be much more enjoyable.

You have a decent start here, just needs a little more work to make it good :)

Quick note if you cant get past the second room 

Look for the lever it shows you were to go

Idk if it is a bug or if the game is just short but i can't get past the second room. I walk inside the door and the room restarts
