I struggled with this. While the shooting feels great, the art is badass, and the platforming and speed are slick, combining the difficultly of the platforming and the shooting made this a challenge. I think checkpoints would alleviate some of the struggle without diminishing the gameplay. Would be fun to grind out and master, definitely feels powerful!
Pretty tough, but it was fun experimenting with all of the different movement options! One thing I would do, if you interested in updating the game after the jam, would be to tighten the platforming a bit, such as giving the player a bit more gravity and/or more directional boosts in speed. For mechanics like wall running, I think this could help make the movement more snappy, for a lack of a better word. Other than that, there’s some cool platforming ideas here!
Its REALLY fun until you die and have to do the entire thing again.
This is a really interesting idea for a power mechanic, and I love that you can use it for both movement and combat. There's a bit of jank involved in various mechanics, but the game comes through as pretty fun, so nice work! I'd love to see a version of this that's more fleshed out.
I really liked the vibe of the graphics feeling retro and the platforming was fun too, good stuff!
i tried hard but im just not patient enough to beat this game, wish i had more than 1 mistake allowed (that being 1 hit only). Solid gameplay, wish it wasnt so spacy and slow (im ultrakill pilled), go easier with the psx shader next time, at least with the texture warp, definitely the worst part of that shader and it HAS to go from psx lovers (im one). Could probably make more use out of the wall run mechanic, it felt pretty fun! Overall solid, some fine tuning is needed though. Good luck!
Thanks, opinions like yours are the ones i like to get, since I can learn much from them :) I will definitely improve in next jams and make sure to try yours GOD OF HANDS!!
this is freaky cool and epic and if I was good sick cause this def has tech. Really like the whole music and the art. The textures are goofy when coming up close to them but I think that it gives off an interesting feel.
cool music
good gameplay

Cool looking game with lots of attitude! The music is fire and the revolver feels powerful. I didn't reach the end though. Walked throught the castle doors and got instantly smacked in the face by a giant monster. The game is really punishing and I think the player could use more hitpoints and health pickups. Overall really fun experience.
Liked the music and the PS1/2 style visuals.
I also had difficulty with the platforming. Could use some more instruction there.
the music buildup and the vibes are off the charts here. really good job. but also i had a hard time understanding what to do. i felt like my jump wasnt high enough to get onto one of the platforms.
Thanks for the comment :) As for the platforms some of them are too high so you’ll boost up with revolver, but I’ve definitely missed the tutorial and introduction part. Thanks one more time, in next jam I’ll try to take better approach:D
This was so cool! Loved the intensity
Thank you for the comment :)
Damn I really wanted to do that wall run. But the reset back to start is brutal. The gun feels really good. I like it.
Thanks for the comment, next time I’ll definitely take some time for all necessary mechanics :) Im glad you liked the gun and shame on me for not providing some saving of progress
Dude, this game was awesome! Took me forever to figure out what I was doing and all a lot of trial and error to figure out the mechanics, but I kept giving it a chance because the art and music was killer. And it was worth it! Super sick game, love the style, a ton of fun
I am glad you liked it :)! I noticed lack of guidance may be a problem, definitely will work on that one in next jams :D
pretty fun idea, cool visual style. I would've liked some checkpoints after killing groups of enemies.
Thanks, I agree, I did not manage to add those 2 things which were checkpoints and some pickup to restore your fragile health. Thank you one more time for the comment :)
Agreed, I was afraid to wall run because I didn't want to lose my progress haha
