How does your game represent "Power"?
You play as a Crown that has the power to control people. The initial idea was from royalty having power over people. This evolved into when you control a NPC, you get to use their attacks / get their health. So, you steal their powers while you are attached to them. Then we you detach from them, (they die) you drain their powers to regain health.

Smooth gameplay with a solid mechanic, supported by distinct style - good game, thank you for making it!
The fighting has great feel. It was challenging enough to dodge and try to jump on the next enemy when they crowded you in the corner. Also different shooting patterns were fun to adapt to
Oh, I Like Sound And Cute Crown!
Cool concept! Wish it was a bit easier tbh
Really cool unique game the main mechanic of capturing enemies when they are at one health to get their powers is very cool. I did feel like the crown could be faster when its off an enemy, and the knockback is very brutal sometimes. Specifically against the kinda sniper type enemy sometimes I just couldn't reach it. But really great work, solid visuals and unique fun gameplay mechanic. Great work!
Really cute little game. Loved the sound effects.
Cool idea! I think the base movement speed could be slightly higher but otherwise this is well done.
Fun game, really liked the possession mechanic, led to there being a lot of ways to approach each level which for a game jam game is really impressive
Fun game! Took a few deaths but now I sit happily as the True King. Attacks and movement felt great
Cute and floaty! We love a royal skull-jacking.
A great idea + manageable scope = a well-rounded little game. I did struggle with controls a bit, would love extra control options. But overall nice work and huge potential to grow with more enemies to possess!
Super fun and overall polished game! Concept is cool too
Such a good polished game. This game has been the most fun for me so far in the jam. This was a really good game, I think you should flesh it out and make it bigger.
Cool concept with lovely music and sound effects!
Thanks for the kind words!
Things felt very polished, and more original than I first thought. I really like possessing the heads of enemies to get their shoot types. It was challenging but fair. Good luck on the Jam!
Thank you! I really aimed to make everything feel as polished as I could, and I'm glad is shows!
Great concept, everything feels great except that the shift dash is actually really awkward to use. And since it's the main mechanic, it's really hard to dodge or possess people in later levels. Maybe make it a right click instead?
I could definitely add another input for dash! I went for mimicking most PC games where run is shift. But, I didn't think at all about making right click to dash where you are aiming. That's probably a better input schema. I'll have to mess around with that. Thanks for the input!
Surprisingly challenging, I enjoyed it thoroughly.
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Fun game with an awesome concept! I agree that movement feels a bit slow but I still had a great time
Appreciate the review! After the Jam rating is finished I'll come back and make the movement more snappy. Is 1 variable change on my end.
I really like it, being able to choose your power up is nice
The only feedback I have is the controls are slow and the spawning is a bit unforgiving
Thanks for the review! I definitely can tweak the movement to be more snappy with a 1 line change. Getting the enemy spawn balance right was interesting, because some people said it was too easy and others too hard. So, I made it ramp up quite a bit in the last 2/3 rooms for those wanting more of a challenge.
its a really cute game! i think movement can be a bit more responsive but i like the concept with the crown and the sprites are really cute!
Thanks so much for the review! The movement responsiveness I could change with just a variable so wouldn't be hard :). There is a max_speed and acceleration var. So can increase acceleration for snappy movement.
I was just torn between making it feel somewhat sluggish to motivate the player to dash more. You also gain a speed increase when attached to enemies, which my intention was to try and motivate the player even more to always stay attached to someone.
