I thought to hide the skip button when assigning an ability, but not when selecting one of the room conditions.  Oops.

Thanks for playing!

When you beat a level, the menu pops up and hides the fact that I am unloading the last level and loading a new one in.  It is possible that something in the loading process didn't complete and left you falling in the void.  Sorry about that.  Thanks for checking it out!

Fast Fall is definitely the hardest, but the speed at which you plummet back to the ground made me laugh too much so I had to keep it in.  Thanks for playing, glad you enjoyed it!

I got a little lazy with the hitboxes, should have put a little more care into making them accurate to the sprites.  Thanks for playing!

Oh, I see that now.  The font on the W kind of makes it look like just part of the environment.  Cool, I'll give this another go.

The vibes of this game are really cool.  Unfortunately, I seem to be softlocked in the game.  I get through the intro, get told I can use right click to show or hide the latern, and I am just stuck on a screen with what looks like a fire.  No matter where I click on the screen I cannot proceed.  Tried a few times and I always get stuck there.

Looks like you did a great job, wish I could play.

The atmosphere is very well done.  Visuals are really compelling.

However, I wish there was more to do in the world.  Maybe more things in the room to interact with, or a reason to explore the space.

I did encounter what I believe to be a bug, where I was unable to leave the chair after the 3rd or 4th poem.

Well done.

I'll echo the other comments I'm seeing that a little extra detail at the ending would go a long way.  Stats of what ending I got or a breakdown of how my choices got to that ending would be really cool.

That being said, I like the premise.  Good job.

Thanks for playing!

Thanks for checking it out!

Solid idea, a phoenix fits really well with the theme

However, 9 seconds per life is way too short, especially when watching the animation to respawn is almost just as long as your entire life.  If you want to keep the really short timer, I think the respawn needs to be almost instant.

I originally played it in a Firefox browser, but I just tried on Chrome and saw the same thing.  Might be a Mac bug.

Thanks for playing!

Cool concept.  Maybe I got a little lucky but I was able to just kind of hold forward across a lot of jumps without having to time it too much.  But I know how hard level design is, especially in a very short time frame.  Good job!

Good humor, and good idea.

Cool idea.  The minimal controls give you a game that is easy to pick up but hard to master.  I think my only ask would be to up the overall speed a little bit, I constantly felt like I was just barely making it to the next defense position.

Cool idea, I like the movement.  The idea of different emotions creating challenges was also a nice touch.

I had what I assume was a bug where the options menu was constantly in the middle of the screen blocking my view which made things a little difficult.

A cool idea, and the leaderboard definitely gives incentive to come back and play more.

Thanks for playing! I felt like hidden movement tech was a good way to add a little replayability.

Thanks for playing, glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks for checking it out!

Nice aesthetics, and a solid gameplay loop.  Good work!

Oddly charming and unique.  Nice work!

This is a really cool idea that I think could be great with a little more tweaking and polish.  Visually, it was hard for me to tell when I was supposed to be pushing the trigger, so I tried to rely on the beat of the music and while this mostly worked, some of the nodes seemed to be offbeat.

Good work, I hope you continue to expand on this idea.

Spooky vibes and interesting mechanics.  Impressive work.

I had trouble jumping on moving platforms, but it looks like you know about this already.  Cool idea!

Game has great style.  I like the idea of parrying enemies to gain power, but the power drain after one attack often left me feeling like I was just waiting for an enemy to attack me so I could start playing again.  With a little bit of balancing I could see this becoming very addicting.

Fun idea, I like games that allow you to play as the boss instead of the typical hero character.

Fantastic work.  Art style, sound, gameplay, and overall presentation are top notch.

Great character designs.  I think the run away from the hammer mini game went on for too long but otherwise there was a nice variety.

The art style has a strange charm to it that I enjoy.  Cool idea!

Nice presentation and humor.

Cool idea!  I think the base movement speed could be slightly higher but otherwise this is well done.

We've already identified some causes of the frame rate tanking once large counts of enemies are in the arena, definitely high on our list for fixes.  Thanks for playing!

Thanks for playing!

Clean presentation and good movement control.  Pretty fun!

Thanks for playing! I noticed the same thing with the power selection on the browser version specifically.  The mouse is supposed to be center screen between the two choices but the browser ignores this I guess.  Have a few ideas on how to prevent this from happening that we will try to push after the rating period.

Thanks for playing!  There definitely are a few bugs and quirks to work out, I think we will try to push some fixes after the rating period ends.
