Very nice game! The game was well-scoped for a gamejam and I liked the artstyle! But I think the game really shines in the game design, there are a lot of choices there that I appreciated, like:

  • Enemies don't hurt you but instead act as a bounce. That was really nice cause they were pretty hard to avoid, but still add a good challenge.
  • Falling offscreen doesn't kill you, it hurts you but then you have a nice recovery window and can go through some obstacles. Makes the more chaotic moments more forgiving.
  • Almost every platform jump will drag the screen high enough to remove the last platform. Keeps from allowing the player to slow the pacing down and recharge the platform charges, better for game pacing and challenge (especially for a high score game).
  • Indicators for the offscreen hazards. Very helpful, would be hard to excel at the game without them. Puts more of the onus of failure on the player.
  • Platform charges. Adds a lot to the push-pull of the game! The timing of recharge feels just right, and it does a lot to push the player to explore options for playing the game. Also reins in the power of being able to put platforms wherever.

Great job!

This game's controls are goofy as heck but it is a lot of fun!! I love how much speed you can build up and that crashing into things doesn't kill your momentum. The graphics with the tower spin perspective is fabulous! Very nice work!

Nice game! It was quite fun and well-scoped for a gamejam, and the palette and graphics were quite nice! I wish there wasn't a limit on the workers, so that you could continue to ramp up production throughout, maybe make the ship cargo space upgradable. Cause once you get enough gunmen there isn't anything to do except wait for the game to end. Not really a bad thing, its cool to watch the setup you worked for succeed, just wanted more to do cause it is fun!

Great job all around! The game fits the theme and wild cards great in a real creative way! Music, visuals, gameplay, this game got it all and excels! Puzzles were well crafted and the climb in complexity is well-paced. Lots of great smoothness in transitions, opening, camera turn, etc. that's easy to pass over but it adds a lot to giving the game a feeling of quality. Bravo!

Great game! I love the strong atmosphere this game presents, does a great job backing up the RPG elements, and getting to set the characteristics at the start is cool! It was disheartening to finally make it to the pyramid to find out I was missing the scarab and die soon thereafter, but I enjoyed the journey and the obelisks were helpful.

Fun game! I think keeping the level on the shorter side for this kind of game was a smart idea, and I liked the challenges that the level design offered. Nice work!

Great Game! I had a fun time with this one. The very forgiving respawn and page indicator were nice, really helped keep the pace going. Great job with the music!

Ahahaha you got me there, this was highly inspired by Risk of Rain, I love Christodoulou's work! That's a compliment indeed!

Thanks for the kind words and for giving it a listen.

Fantastic piece! Really encapsulates the theme magnificently! Particularly the orchestra feel and giving the melody to the horns in a couple places really gives the feel of a grand adventure.

I am a sucker for pieces with a long, building crescendo ripe with tension. Add a tempo build to that and I am smitten. The second half delivered on that flawlessly! I loved it!

The move at 1'11" pitch drop out of the piano section was a really cool transition. It comes kinda unexpectedly but does very well in setting up the next segment.

It blows my mind something like this could be made in a week. Bravo!

The voice quips really sell this game, its hilarious! The scream at the beginning certainly let's you know you're in for a treat. The failure cinematic too is great, awesome submission!

This is really well done, has a great sense of polish visually and awesome aesthetic! I particularly like how freely you can move the camera to scout around! Great job!

Game has a great feel, but dang it's hard! I liked the indicator arrows on the player and enemies, did wonders in helping with aiming the melee attack. Fun game!

Charming! Having the elements looked surprised when they fall was a good touch!

Nice work getting a story in with multiple endings! Good work!

Wow, this game is great! I like how it plays and the mechanics were enough to keep you frantically moving but well paced so that you're not completely overwhelmed. The enemies giving feedback to your actions is particularly great and the atmosphere is wonderful! My only complaint is that when I lost the first time, I wasn't entirely sure if it was a loss until I played it again and won. But the lore triggering when you take damage is a nice touch, certainly helps being told outright what got you so then you can look them up in the book. Overall a great experience!

Great game! The Barracuda controls are awesome and easy to use, the segment addition is a fun way to upgrade and I liked the sfx! Reminds me of Ace of Seafood.

The atmosphere is charming as is the music, the relaxing gameplay compliments it well! The mini-map and direction notifiers are superb. The ability to reverse the boat would be nice

Fun and the art is nice!

This game is fantastic! Took me longer than I want to admit to finally realize you can rotate things. Presentation, music, mechanics, all great!

The number of systems you've crammed in this little space is remarkable! I think a tutorial or level system introducing the individual components would be helpful. The aesthetic is great!

Fun premise and the music was a jam! Nice work!
