A Progressive Hack 'n' Slash Survival! ⚔️🔥

Fast-paced and fun, with a catchy soundtrack 🎶! Once you master the controls and get giga buff, the game becomes truly exhilarating. The graphics are solid, and the core idea of using parries to gain power is really cool. The sense of progression is satisfying and engaging, though it seems to slow down over time. And wiping out waves of enemies solo? Absolutely badass. 💥

That said, the difficulty feels quite high from the start, and when enemies pile up, the player can feel powerless if they aren’t well-prepared. ⚠️ Maybe nerfing power loss from enemy attacks or making it more gradual would help, as the risk-reward dynamic didn’t always feel worth it. Also, the game feel could be snappier, as the controls and feedback feel a bit rigid at times.

Still, this is a great game with a lot of potential! With some balancing tweaks and a stronger sense of impact, it could turn even better    in my opinion. Looking forward to future updates! 🚀🎮

love the style. quite a great aesthetic. love the gameplay, the powertrip after parrying  is great!

Game has great style.  I like the idea of parrying enemies to gain power, but the power drain after one attack often left me feeling like I was just waiting for an enemy to attack me so I could start playing again.  With a little bit of balancing I could see this becoming very addicting.

very neat game, wish there was a way to gain power off of the ranged enemies (unless i missed it), makes lategame pretty miserable. PPPmaxxing was my favorite build. Very nice sprites, enjoyable music and a satisfying gameplay loop. Good luck!

yea their timing is too punishing atm but if you parry right when the red circle spawns on you you will get power from it but it is very hard atm. thanks so much for playing! i’ll be sure to update after the jam

this game is hard but in a good way but i am bad at video games :(

the look and feel is great, it feels very satisfying to pull off a parry or make a quick escape with the roll

Loved the aesthetics of the game, but I am really but at parrying. It took me a while to understand the parry to charge mechanic, but I think it is a good implementation of power, like in power up!

Loved the presentation!! I think some more feedback for swinging the sword and successfully parrying would go a long way as well!

This is a good all-rounder across the categories. Getting into the swing of things takes a little bit – maybe the first few enemies could telegraph how and when to parry a bit clearer?  Once you get going though building the power and taking down a whole screen of enemies is fun

Oh my gosh it's this game! I tried out the in-development version that you posted in the Bigmode Discord when I was lurking, and I am impressed by the final product! The music is a good fit, and all of the game juice you added (e.g. the rainbow-colored damage numbers, the sound effects, etc.) really add an oomph to the result! The parry timing was kind of tricky to get the hang of, but once I kind of got the hang of it ulting big waves of enemies was fun!

It was a bit hard to get the timing for the when to parry. I think I figured out the sword type enemy, other ones are harrrd

Fantastic style! Really liked the colors and the CRT effect along with the killer soundtrack B) 

The concept was cool and well executed, would have liked a bit more anticipation for enemy attacks (an SFX cue for when they start to attack would have been great) but I was able to get used to their attack timing anyways! Great job :D
