I liked the dynamic between Mihr and the player, as well as how that relationship affects the dynamic between the player and the witch. I was also a big fan of the jump to the black screen in the climax, it made it hit even harder. In my head, Mihr sounded like voldemort in the graveyard scene in the Goblet of Fire. While I liked that Mihr was shown through the strikethrough text, I found it kind of hard to read in places.
I really liked the different characters, and how they all spoke in there own way. The shard spoke in a very authoritative voice while the witch spoke more old lady like, and I like how I could get a clear image of the both of them in my mind. The color on the background was just a little hard to look at for too long, but it and the font still works perfectly for the story
Leaving a comment on Seth's behalf, as his Itch account won't let him:
"I really enjoyed having the NPCs being in seperate states, one physical and one just as a disembodied voice in your head, it make the dynamic feel very interesting. I want to know more about the world now with Chaos and Order being two large constructs. The only criticism is that I would like to have a definitive moment where I know the story ends, rather than just being left somewhere"
I really enjoyed this game! The world building was well done, and it was pretty effortless for me to dive right into the middle of it. I did however learn that perhaps I shouldn't blindly trust a random voice that's lowkey possessing me. I think it's super cool how the voice will agree or disagree with your choices, and I found myself carefully considering each option. My only critique is I wish my choices felt more impactful. I played it twice, and it seemed to me like the only choice that mattered was when seeing the witch's tattoos. Despite that, the game was very fun and I was drawn into it immediately! Well done :)
Positives: Enjoyed Magic Entities/Items, Enjoyed the use of strike through, enjoyed the color shift at the end, enjoyed a lot of the descriptions of what was going on.
Negatives: I would have preferred a bit more spacing between things on pages because it sometimes felt cluttered, sometimes prompts were a little confusing to what was going on.
The imagery and descriptions of each of the different archive pieces are so vivid and really help establish the world! I love the use of crossed-out words to indicate your subsconscious. It left me wondering whether I could trust Edith or whether I was being lied to by the voice. You did a great job making it ambiguous! If you had more words, you could add more endings to let the player make the final choice at the end to trust her or the voice. You set up both sides of the final decision really well so I wished it was a choice for the player
