Loved this game; it really felt like a classic DS adventure game or something. Really impressive and a lot of fun, I thought. It's definitely long. I haven't even beaten it yet and I think it's been a couple hours. Just walking around examining everything cuz everything has text, and it's usually pretty funny.  All the references were great too. Only negative I have is some of the graphics look a bit janky, but it's a minor quibble.

Thank you for the feedback. Glad you enjoyed the game.

An interesting entry that shows a lot of promise in the writing, nuanced characterization and its diversity in cast. It is bogged down by it being far too ambitious for a gamejam entry since you need to do a lot of exploring and figuring out what to do before you can actually pinpoint the culprit.

Sometimes it is also hard to figure out where to go due to the many secret passageways the game has to offer. The quest clues/hints do not provide clear-cut directions on where to go at times and it can be hard to keep track of certain events happening. I didn't even know you have to use your bug assistant to go invisible and you have to backtrack to his place to do so.

I really appreciate this entry's ambition and I will hope for a more polished ironed out product at the end of this post-jam someday.

Thank you for the feedback. We are working on a post jam version that should be much more clear and concise.

Woot, completed it! (God, I hope I accused the right one - can you accuse the wrong suspect?)

This game is super big. There were some bugs (like sometimes I could talk to people while invisible and some sparkles weren't on the correct object and didn't go away), but that's too be expected considering the scope of this game. Some of the dialogue got scrawned in my ending, which was a shame.

I think I completed most (all?) of the subplots, but on that note - I would have really loved if the Clues actually had some clues. Even just hovering over that subplot or clicking on it and have a note appear with everything related to it, would have been very nice.

I liked the news ending, but some of the news was repetitive. The newscaster announced at least twice that Sachiko was the new countess.

Thanks for the review, Slim! This game is massive indeed. It originally had a bunch of random elements, like different potential murderers and a different mix of sub-plots in each play through; we had to scrap much of that toward the end of the development period but there are still vestiges of it, and we didn’t have time to really clean up the ending.

Glad you liked it overall. Thanks again for playing our game and leaving feedback.

I'm really impressed by the group effort. The scope of this game is just totally out of this world. Writing was spot on, there was custom artwork, cool little custom tiles like the instruments, and the music was good too. Loved hearing the variations on the theme change in the underground.

I think at this point the problems are obvious - the game is gigantic for a jam game, and after 1.5 hours of wandering, I did not manage to beat the game. Even after getting a walkthrough, I am still stumped as to how to trigger the ending of some of the sub plots, which is pretty frustrating. I imagine issue was pretty clear long after all the interwoven tales were created, and it was just going to take too much time to cut it down to size, or offer players better ways to figure things out in a timely way.

Still, given what I guess was a big time crunch, the game worked really smoothly, and I was able to touch on a deeper story with characters that all had their own lives, motivations, and secrets. This must have been really hard to accomplish, and I for what I saw, it was executed really well.

Thanks for the kinds words and honest review, Human!

It takes lots of hours to accuse one suspect!
