How NFT is going to change the way we create game or game assets.

Just in order to put my head around NFTs I created few  and posted it as NFT..

I still dont have clear picture of how it will work. But the hype about it and big companies and games adopting it makes it inevitable to miss.

How do u perceive this new changes and how do u think its gonna change the game/ assets development scene.

I have no perceptions. But I found this quite hilarious:

This one is my favorite, enjoy.

If you touch NFTs with a ten-foot pole, you're either a scammer or a dupe. Luckily, most game developers know better. Please be smart.

I'm surprised actually however not to NFT stuffs but to people reaction. For me art market is messy (even with real money involved) already and I don't like making profit there.

I think it might change the scene.... to prevent anyone from stealing assets and create NFTs from them.

It's not leading anywhere positive.  Putting NFTs into games seems to stem from a desire to monetize and commodify everything in the game.  Like microtransactions, but much, much worse.  It's the proposal that playing a game is only worthwhile insofar as it generates a financial return.  This type of mindset produces trashy games like Project Entropia.

My 1st impression when I entered the NFT marketplace was that "my art will easily stand out above all these thrash"

After publishing few and seeing no traction... "This place is not for art sale or art admirers.

When I see 4 giant social media Facebook, Twitter, tiktok, YouTube backing it... I can only imagine the reaction of people when NFT collectibles will start displaying in our social media profiles or when we can stream our owned music in YouTube without copyright strikes.

Not for the purpose of money or greed, but for the purpose of eyeballs on the digital assets we create. We have to wait and see. It's Infact too early to predict...

Those four giants are backing it because it’s the trendy thing to do. Trends are not positive by default, especially today.

Didn't it raise a red flag that people were paying so much for so-called "art" with zero artistic value? Well, now you know why: selling art is a pretext.

offcourse, It did raise the red flag... but then again it appeared like early stage of web 2.0 when internet was full of spammy forums and hacks... Everyone use to have 100 links below thr posts... The orkut, credit card scam, frauds era.

From ur message if clear that itch is not in mood to adopt this for now. :D

To clarify: I can't state an official position on this issue. All I posted in this topic is my personal opinion.

Thank you, Official positions of itch and other marketplaces will determine how the sellers will develop the work. It may completely change our workflow. I am not much into forums, but these days reading blogs and discussing with others about this. As it may greatly affect how we are doing things.

To be honest, I have no idea how this coin thing works.

Official stance of itch.io on NFT is:

"NFTs are a scam. If you think they are legitimately useful for anything other than the exploitation of creators, financial scams, and the destruction of the planet the(n) we ask that (you) please reevaluate your life choices."

Wow, the response by itch is straight and clear.  I hope this is also the case with game engines especially unity/ unreal etc. because if they are adopting it in thr updates, so will the developers and eventually designers. And we will start seeing a new genre of assets.

I gave you a couple of links that explain how it all works. There are many more where those came from.

Well, why don't you start learning how these coins work then? :)

Then you'll understand better why most of us hate cryptocurrency.

Blockchain and NFTs are a solution in need of a problem.
