Hello! Thanks for trying to play my game! Are you getting the "A Java Exception has occurred" message? If so, open Terminal, then navigate to where the game is on your computer (if it's on your Desktop type in "cd Desktop/squish-cats/", then press enter) and then type in "java -jar squish-cats.jar" and press enter. Let me know if that works, and sorry for the hassle!
Great game!! Absolutely insane that you did this with the super limited amount of time you had. I really enjoyed the maze-like aspect of the game. I think it'd also be funny if we could push stuff in front of the robo-dogs to trip them or block them haha, but that's probably out of scope. I did run into a bug where I started being able to run through all the bushes/fences/etc but then I couldn't return home! Overall, really awesome work!
Cute visuals!! The dog's speech bubbles are very fun. Very fun to play as well, I loved running around in the vents haha. Unfortunately I ran into an issue where I can't see the game screen fully on my computer, so I had to keep resizing my window periodically to see different parts of the environment. Very well done overall!
Nice game! I really liked the movement of the cards, it was very satisfying. If you ever want to expand on this game in the future, I think it would be nice to add special cards with certain abilities/power ups (like being able to peek at the next few cards), kind of like the board game Exploding Kittens (the explosion aspect of your game reminded me of Exploding Kittens, which I really enjoy!) Awesome work!
Very charming game!! I really enjoyed the rules, especially the part about dipping your biscuit in the tea for more damage. It definitely was a lot of fun! One critique I have is that the tutorial felt very long. In addition to maybe implementing a skip button like others have suggested, it might be more engaging if you got someone to voice act the tutorial! Well done overall!!
Nice concept, I love the idea of biscuits wearing jetpacks to fight each other haha! I do wish that there was more variation in how the enemy biscuit moves though, instead of always following the player. I ran into a couple situations where the enemy biscuit was pinning my biscuit to the ground and it was a bit difficult to escape and start fighting again. Maybe the enemy biscuit could move away slightly from the player after dealing damage. Great work overall!!
Really nice game! The art looks very polished and I love the mug's silly face. I felt like it was a bit hard to hit the enemies and I would've liked to be able to fire faster, or maybe I just need more practice haha! Another nitpick I have is that the text is a bit small and hard to read. Overall, really great work, and I hope you expand on this game in the future!
