Interesting game. The letter colors are very helpful, if it weren’t for that I would have been toast. The random game generation keeps it fresh. Well done.

Nice to see a new take on Tetris. The audio seems to be having some trouble in Firefox, the music stutters and the sound effects sometimes have short popping artifacts. I try to line all of the blocks up so four connect, but they start attacking me and make the game more difficult. I see that I’m supposed to break them up to stop them, but I couldn’t do that with the pieces I had before I was ionized. The block design is nice, the different tiles are very clear. And the fall speed is very forgiving.
I like the particle effects going on and the aesthetic overall. And I like the idea of a lot of visual action on the screen. Nicely done. I tried to play a bit. The mountain in the background jumps around and flashes a lot. It’s difficult to focus on the player once that effect ramps up. The platform mechanics work well.
Props for submitting what you had. I looked at the source code to get an idea of the game, it seems very ambitious. I might be totally off, but it seems like the gameplay would happen online in a shared server lobby, and players would compete for gaining schlubs and collecting food. I hope we will get the chance to test this out together someday. Looks awesome.
I downloaded the source code and used wasmserve to work around the issue others mentioned.
Nice game. I played through a few hands. I really like the aesthetic and the interface. At the end of a game I’m not sure whether I won or lost, I only see “Game over” each time and there doesn’t seem to be any scoring. Seeing the tally for my score and the opponents at the end of a game would be nice. Well done.

Ever wondered how to play backgammon? It’s a game with a history spanning more than two thousand years. Check out the blog post I just published:

Box Brawl is a new fighting game created in 30 days for the Fighting Jam game jam. It is written in the Go programming language, and is powered by the Ebitengine game engine. This game was a lot of fun to make, and learning how the mechanics of fighting games work was fascinating. It’s free and open source, so hack away!

Very well designed and fun game. I really enjoyed trying this out and lost count of which wave I managed to reach. I found a few bugs:
- When a building is destroyed, if you had it selected it remains selected and the panel stays open.
- Skipping to the start of the next round does not reward the money that would have been given while waiting (this may be intentional).
- Right clicking the screen spawns an enemy.
Very well done and polished game. Tower defense games are always fun, and this one is no exception. At first I thought I couldn’t build on the paths. Once I realized I could change the paths where creeps walk, the game took on a new dimension of strategy. The pathfinding for building things is a little broken, but that’s not much of an issue. It’s awesome to see that you were even able to include support for network play. Nice work!
