Interesting game. The letter colors are very helpful, if it weren’t for that I would have been toast. The random game generation keeps it fresh. Well done.

The way the sprites change depending on the size of the group is really nice. It makes the game look alive, which is fitting. The achievements are varied and make you want to play again with a different outcome in mind. Well done.

Nice to see a new take on Tetris. The audio seems to be having some trouble in Firefox, the music stutters and the sound effects sometimes have short popping artifacts. I try to line all of the blocks up so four connect, but they start attacking me and make the game more difficult. I see that I’m supposed to break them up to stop them, but I couldn’t do that with the pieces I had before I was ionized. The block design is nice, the different tiles are very clear. And the fall speed is very forgiving.

Nice game. Great overall aesthetic and the gameplay itself is fun. The tutorial is great and very helpful. I tried a few times to beat the first level. Very tricky. Well done.

Nice game. I like the art style. The UI looks and works great. I tried a few times to connect everything up. I did run into the crash others mentioned. If you leave the game running on desktop long enough, it will crash with the message “decode: read frame: unexpected EOF”.

I like the particle effects going on and the aesthetic overall. And I like the idea of a lot of visual action on the screen. Nicely done. I tried to play a bit. The mountain in the background jumps around and flashes a lot. It’s difficult to focus on the player once that effect ramps up. The platform mechanics work well.

Props for submitting what you had. I looked at the source code to get an idea of the game, it seems very ambitious. I might be totally off, but it seems like the gameplay would happen online in a shared server lobby, and players would compete for gaining schlubs and collecting food. I hope we will get the chance to test this out together someday. Looks awesome.

I downloaded the source code and used wasmserve to work around the issue others mentioned.

Nice game. I played through a few hands. I really like the aesthetic and the interface. At the end of a game I’m not sure whether I won or lost, I only see “Game over” each time and there doesn’t seem to be any scoring. Seeing the tally for my score and the opponents at the end of a game would be nice. Well done.

Fun game. Big fan of rhythm games and this delivers. The synchronization works well and everything runs smoothly. Nice work.

Nice game. Very polished. I liked the dungeon crawler puzzle elements and the power-ups/abilities were a nice surprise. Well done.

Fun game. The RTS elements are implemented well. Nice story too, very fitting for the theme. The workers get stuck now and then, but minding stuck workers is just part of the classic RTS experience. ;)

This is a thread for sharing and giving feedback on custom maps.

Information on how to create and play custom maps is available here.

Include a URL to download your map and a screenshot. Launch your custom map fullscreen (Alt + Enter), and before moving Belcho or Nim, take a screenshot. While a screenshot is not required, it is recommended.

Thanks for sharing these sprites. I used them to create Arctic Warfare.

Ever wondered how to play backgammon? It’s a game with a history spanning more than two thousand years. Check out the blog post I just published:

https://bgammon.org/blog/20240201-how-to-play-backgammon/

bgammon.org is a free and open source online backgammon service.

Thanks!

I was not aware sprite stacks, they look incredibly versatile and powerful. The resulting aesthetics are a nice bonus, too. Very cool.

Nice. I tried to use it on Linux and unfortunately it does not seem to work, which makes sense as this has only been tested on Windows. Very cool idea for a tool. I hope to give this a try in the future.

Platformers are always fun. Including a custom level editor and making it easy to share levels is a huge feat. Nicely done.

Very nice visual design and sound atmosphere. And fun to play, too. Great job.

How did you accomplish the 3D look?

I enjoyed playing this a lot. The glitch design and mechanic work well together. Really nice interpretation of the theme.

Thanks!

I’ve just published a blog post about the software powering bgammon.org and my experience creating it using free and open source tools:

Boxcars is the official client for playing backgammon via bgammon.org, a free and open source online backgammon service.

It is written in the Go programming language, and is powered by the Ebitengine game engine.

Desktop and mobile clients are also available: https://bgammon.org/download

After playing, I got the sense that this is a mostly unchanged UFE3D starting game template. Will you please share what you added/changed to create this?

My favorite part is the customization. It adds a lot and there’s something hilarious about a stick wielding a saw blade. Nicely done.

Box Brawl is a new fighting game created in 30 days for the Fighting Jam game jam. It is written in the Go programming language, and is powered by the Ebitengine game engine. This game was a lot of fun to make, and learning how the mechanics of fighting games work was fascinating. It’s free and open source, so hack away!

I am a software engineer and system administrator seeking full-time and freelance work. Please contact me if you would like my resume.

Glad to hear things worked as intended. I ran out of time before being able to add anything theme-related. I created the fighting game mechanics from scratch, after some research on how games like Street Fighter work.

Thank you. I will add harder difficulty levels in a future update.

Getting the following error when trying to play using Firefox:

Error
The following features required to run Godot projects on the Web are missing:
Cross Origin Isolation - Check web server configuration (send correct headers)
SharedArrayBuffer - Check web server configuration (send correct headers)

Thanks for letting me know. Were you playing in your browser?

Very well designed and fun game. I really enjoyed trying this out and lost count of which wave I managed to reach. I found a few bugs:

  • When a building is destroyed, if you had it selected it remains selected and the panel stays open.
  • Skipping to the start of the next round does not reward the money that would have been given while waiting (this may be intentional).
  • Right clicking the screen spawns an enemy.

Very fun and aesthetically pleasing. Seeing shaders used like this always blows my mind. Nice work.

Thanks for playing! And thanks for making Ebitengine. You can wall jump to get up there. (Jump against a wall and keep jumping against it to keep going up)

I love how you can cow-tip the robots over, and make them blow themselves up. Very innovative controls with a lot of room for skill development. The game crashes when I die, so I just re-launch it. Nicely done.

Very well done and polished game. Tower defense games are always fun, and this one is no exception. At first I thought I couldn’t build on the paths. Once I realized I could change the paths where creeps walk, the game took on a new dimension of strategy. The pathfinding for building things is a little broken, but that’s not much of an issue. It’s awesome to see that you were even able to include support for network play. Nice work!

Here’s a hint:

When the weapon console says “all systems are operational” there is a hint later in that message (“WARNING: KEEP AWAY FROM MAGNETIC FIELDS”).

Thanks for playing and sharing your feedback.

Hello, I have published six games on itch.io, you can find them on my profile page. Each of these games is written in Go using the Ebitengine game engine. I am available for hire for projects, and long-term employment. I have built several back-end systems. I also have experience with Python, PHP and Linux system administration. My email address is trevor@rocketnine.space.

As someone who loves to play go, I think this is a very interesting addition to the game. Well done.

This is a very fun and unique game. I love the cleverly drawn doctor. Well done.

Thanks for sharing this tileset. I used it to create Doctor Lectro.
