I know how you feel, I hate horror films like scream or jaws, but liminal horror or zombie movies I'm fine with.. weird right?

Hm interesting, I'll give it a shot.

I'm Liminary, and I'm a new dev and just released my first demo game a few days ago. As a backrooms lover, my game is ofc backrooms released.

It's an exploration based backrooms game where you find yourself in a place you shouldn't be, goal to find a way out, exploring the different levels of the backrooms while keeping an eye on your sanity levels, watching where you step, alt routes to explore, discovering lost notes left behind by others and more!

It's still a wip and only the demo is out. If you want another reason to check it out, I've been working on it solo on my spare time with a total of 0 pre made assets used, all assets/models and textures are hand crafted by me, well.. besides the sfx and music... my game wouldn't be done if I had to make all of that.

Well I haven't finished it, but the walking dead, it goes to show you how humans can be when shit hits the fan.

Greetings! I'm a new dev myself, take my advise with a grain of salt but for indie devs, esp for making/releasing your first set of games, you don't need set up costs.

You just need to A) Make a good game, B) Have places outside of itch to promote it, C) Have a good bio to gather people in, D) Have a good trailer and thumbnails to capture visitors passing by.

Only startup costs that apply to developers if you are starting your own game studio or trying to publish your game through someone elses game studio.

Hi there, recently new to itch. I'm Liminary.

Very new to making games, I've only ever made one game and just released the demo few days back. I'm a big backrooms fan and as you might have guessed my game is based off the backrooms.

In my spare time I watch youtube, watch manhwa's, listen to music, watch anime.

Good to know, lots of people trying to do one over on others.

Thank you so much!!

Greetings!

Unsure the type of games you like but I'll share my first and recent project.

Between Places - Demo. An exploration based Backrooms game, where you discover unsettling places and levels, while tracking your sanity levels, discovering alt routes, picking up items, reading lost notes and more!

For me it was a few days ago, an exploration-based backrooms game I started developing 8 months ago with no understanding how to make a game.

And yeah 100% proud of what I've made, it will live with me for as long as I live.

Thank you so much!! Honestly, as a new and solo dev, like any other like-minded creators, we are all fearful of how others see our games from their perspectives because we know not everyone is going to enjoy it, but it's also a major relief when a comment like yours rolls in,  thank you so much for playing my demo and enjoying the hard work I put into doing what I can to ensure players have the best time they can with my game.

Thanks!!

You find yourself searching for something but never quite figure it out... until one day you wake up in the depths of The Backrooms, a seemingly never-ending hallways and rooms with yellow wallpaper, madness of mono-yellow and the feeling that you're not quite alone.

You embark on an exploratory journey across the endless liminality of the backrooms, level lobby, Level 0.3, level pipe dreams, level parking garage, and level pool rooms, in hopes you can find your way out.

Whether you survive is up to you. Welcome to my first ever game. Between Places, a backrooms exploration-based liminal game that takes you through the different backrooms levels.

Exploring isn't the only thing you'll be doing. From keeping an eye out on your sanity levels, collecting Almondwater, to completing light, simple puzzles and, discovering lost notes from other survivors or businesses. I handcrafted all models and textures besides sfx and music, been working on this project for the past 8 months and I'm so glad to finally release it to the public.

This is my first game, a solo dev, all textures, models and assets were hand crafted by me. Sfx and music were sourced from the web

I'm a new dev and this is my first game so I'm not 100% sure if it's any good to outsiders. Was hoping to get some feedback on the layout of my page, my trailer and if you have time playing my game for feedback.

My game is an exploration-based backrooms game with sanity management, alt routes, light puzzles, notes and more.
