If this game doesn't win something, I'm gonna riot. Excellent job, super fun puzzles, really fun concept!

Oh this is cool! The math gameplay was pretty cool, although I eventually ended up just looking at the answers for the largest number instead of actually looking at any of the equations... still, the whole aesthetic/music/atmostphere is super cohesive.

The opening cutscenes were kind of long and a bit overwhelming -- I ended up paying better attention whenever you had a story beat during a gameplay segment. I think it helped that the number of characters I was introduced to was reduced, and the stakes (purify the enemies/save the little brother's spirit/etc etc) were directly tied in with what I was doing. After that it was easier to get into the story.

I also wish the text box background was a bit darker, or more opaque. Since it's translucent, sometimes the contrast between the white text and some of the lighter parts of the background were hard to read.

But overall, well done! I love it when UI elements are all crafted to fit one cohesive aesthetic. I also love all the character designs!

Extremely funny, extremely FUN, and oozing charm. The gameplay is great and the dialogue is hilarious. I love the dodging even after you die, and I love the little mini-game dodges.

Ah, I enjoyed this! That introduction with the glitched text and the robotic voices was EXCELLENTLY done.

The writing was also great. Blythe is a really engaging character. The scene confronting the dad after coming home was so tense, I literally had to take a breath when we made it to the room (the animation of Blythe just resting against the door and falling to the ground fit the mood perfectly). It sucks that you didn't get to finish the story, but I'd definitely tune in for more!

The graphics are SO cool! Excellent work with the art -- I love how vivid all the environments are. And paired with the sound -- the juxtaposition between the background music and the abrupt sound effects (especially for the more jarring scene transitions) is great!

It was really short (like, less than 10 min per playthrough short). I did spend about ~15 minutes trying to get all the endings, though! I liked the atmosphere and how the language and art all contributed to it, but I think it could have done with some additional scenes that were a little less metaphorical. I would have liked to dig into the world more -- I was really excited any time I found a new branch, and would have liked a more fleshed out trail for each area (both for the worldbuilding, and for the development of the themes).

Still, I enjoyed the experience, however brief it was! I'd definitely be interested if you ever expand upon this or make more games in this style.

Oh, this was SUPER fun! Immaculate vibes. The art and music are so cute and cohesive, and Day 5 was just the perfect amount of frantic rush. The story was fun, too -- simple, but it was a nice throughline to have to push through the 5 days. Excellent job!

Yeah, a lot of my work was focused on the buildup and not so much the payoff for this one haha. Thank you for your feedback, it's definitely something I'll keep in mind for any future projects I make!

Still, I'm glad you felt compelled! Thanks!

Haha, yeah I'm a sucker for the metafiction gimmick. I'm glad you enjoyed my take on it!

Thank you for the feedback! I do think expanding the second half of the game would really help with the payoff... I might revisit it in the future. Regardless, I'll definitely keep this in mind for any future projects!

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment! <3

Thank you for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Oh dang this is fun! Love a good over-the-top, trashy dirtbag protagonist.

The art fits the edgy humor very well, and it's l ovely to look at. And the characters are definitely fun. I'll be sure to check out the main game!

(1 edit)

The overall vibes are impeccable. Art is fantastic, music is fantastic. Every single monster looks cool as hell. Gorgeous, and creates a super imposing atmosphere (and the characters are quite engaging as well!)

(if you got 3 notifications for this, I'm so sorry, my internet when a bit crazy)

haha i'm glad it was worth it ;)

thank you!!

thank you!!

Nice!

(There's an even newer version with additional minor bugfixes, but I'm glad to hear that it ended up okay.)

Huh, thanks for the bug report! I'll take a look at that when I get home.
Was it exactly when you pick up the sword, or after getting the sword and then moving to the next area?
