This was such a cool idea for a game jam game! I'd love to see a fuller version someday. The art direction is great and It had pretty cool twist!

This was a fun little game and the style was really cute! Even if it was a bit abrupt the ending still got me!

A cute, fun game with a slightly unexpected twist. I had fun with this, even though there's not a ton to do. And so I put together a 15-minute first impression video, with some additional notes on a few bugs I encountered (or maybe they were intentional?!), should that seem helpful:

Nice little game that kept my interest till the end, but like others have noted, the game would benefit from expanded content + better ending (assuming I reached the true end). Presentation fits the game. Good job.

Guys! You really did a great job on this one. The story really caught me off guard. I had a great time playing this game. GG! ❤

I had a lot of fun playing this game! I knew something would be up with a title like "Save Me!" and a cute princess on the cover, and I was wondering in what ways could I obey or disobey the game... the writing was funny and entertaining, and the way the meta reveal was handled in this game caught me by surprise, but in the good way!

I also enjoyed the fact that there are little secrets, and it's making me want to go back and try to appease the scarecrow. (Also, the RPG Maker error screens were really fun! I had a good laugh out of that too) Overall, I had a great time!

Excellent tone and direction as a whole. I think more could have been done to play/toy with the audiences expectations, there was so much tension and buildup and dread and it kind of fizzled out by the end with not much of a conclusion. With meta works like this it can be easy to rely on self awareness as a crutch for a truly gripping plot or any kind of shock value, but as these kinds of stories have become more and more common, its important for them to really try to play with what they expect from a prospective audience.
All the same however, It's clear you did a lot with what you've been given and wanted to get out of the story. The presentation similarly is all top notch and I was very compelled all throughout. Good Job.

Yeah, a lot of my work was focused on the buildup and not so much the payoff for this one haha. Thank you for your feedback, it's definitely something I'll keep in mind for any future projects I make!

Still, I'm glad you felt compelled! Thanks!

i really enjoyed this! honestly the gimmick has been played out before, but the use of the engine's Error screens was just so good! simple but extremely well presented!

the ending was a little bit anticlimactic though i did wish there was more to the story cause i was very invested in the plot. it just felt like the buildup was very good but the payoff was just alright.

i'd honestly love to see an expanded version of this!

Haha, yeah I'm a sucker for the metafiction gimmick. I'm glad you enjoyed my take on it!

Thank you for the feedback! I do think expanding the second half of the game would really help with the payoff... I might revisit it in the future. Regardless, I'll definitely keep this in mind for any future projects!

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment! <3

This game is genuinely well produced. Taking the subtle approach to the themes and using the "bugs" as intentional design elements for the "twist". It certainly exceeded expectations, both in a direct and subtle way (if you played, you know).

The scarecrow secret is interesting after figuring out what the problem is. Granted, would have been nice if that secret secret search would lead to a "better" ending than the one we've gotten with "both routes". But I'm not going to be picky.

Overall, this is a very strong entry contender for top 10 for both theme and execution. Well done.
