Woah! Bad ass intro! Loved the music, and props the the voice artist! The game did not fail to disappoint either! "The Last Host" is a great idea, and the respawn mechanic was too cool! Great mash up of Enter the Gungeon and Doom. Fantastic game, great work to everyone involved.

Thanks so much for playing our game, we're glad to hear you enjoyed it!

This was a fun one! The animations are really fluid and the movement and actions feel remarkably smooth. It was frustrating to me to have to run around so much to get everything, but only because the pressure was on!

This was a fun little monster dress up sim! Here's my monster, their name is Paul. Paul says hi!

What an interesting game! Sounds were really pleasing and the circle mechanic reminds me of Pokémon Ranger.

Scored 1130! Then got the...bad ending?

I'll be shocked if this doesn't make 1st in audio! In all seriousness, I loved playing around with the noises when swiping across the buttons.

At first I didn't understand the objective. The question I asked myself most when I first played was: "What is gov.org?" I didn't find the more detailed instructions in the pause menu until my second playthrough.

Instantly, however, I knew how to move, and interact with the mouths - even the text puzzles were pretty intuitive.

After about 3-5 min I had realized I needed to sit on a node, so I parked myself on twitter.com grabbed a L shape block. I scooped all the mouths together and held them offscreen to win!

I had a surprising amount of fun with this silly project. All in all, really amazing stuff for only a single day!

Wow! We appreciate your high praise! The first ting we told our developer after we wrapped the pitch meeting was "we have an impossible task for you!" But, your right! The team pulled it out, kudos to them! I've passed on your compliments to the rest of the dev team :)

Juice is tough! We were almost satisfied with how much we were able to squeeze out in 9 days! You can always get juicier though!

Oh no! Sorry to hear you got stuck on some geo.

Unfortunately, it was a persistent problem in development that we chose to push off in favor of more ambitious design goals.

We're glad you enjoyed being Godzilla for a minute! Thanks for checking out our game!

screaming monster noises

Thanks for playing our game! We're happy to hear you had as much fun knocking down buildings as we did. Love the suggestions!

Bummer! Thank you for the feedback! :)

Thanks for trying our game! We are glad that you had a fun time using the grapple!

Unfortunately the enemies ended up being a late addition, which is why they are so lackluster. We spent a lot of time trying to get the destruction to a better state and had a couple dead ends in doing so.

As for those tanks? Well, gotta have something up there no? lol

Thanks again!

Thanks for trying our game and leaving a comment! I agree that we are very satisfied with how many things we were able to add to our world. Though I totally agree that there could be better feedback on hitting the buildings - this was a consistent challenge throughout production!

We're glad you enjoyed your time with our game!

This game was a trip! What a super original concept. I suck at these types of spelling games, but it was fun to try to beat! Love the icons, and the unified style you've applied.

Nice work on this! It's a shame the second level is inaccessible on release, you should ask the organizers if they'll let you fix it.

Very creative use of pre-existing assets as well. The controls worked fine and gameplay worked as I expected it to.

It was a bit frustrating to move so slowly, and I don't think the music was a great choice for the tone the game was setting for me.

All told though, good work on getting something in and submitted! Keep making games!

(1 edit)

I'm having the same issue!

Great work on this game! A great nod to the classic Rampage games! Loved the top-down style, gave me big GTA 2 flashbacks. Though some of the most fun I has was playing with the character customizer!

Unfortunately I did experience some technical issues that prevented me from getting too far, but what I did see was enjoyable!

Keep making games!

I wasn't able to get the gold :(
I liked the style though! Reminds me of games I used to play in the computer lab in the early 2000s

What a unique game! I love the atmosphere you cultivated with this game. The landmark mountain has a great design, and the music and terrain create a relaxing feeling (until monsters attack!).

Unfortunately, I couldn't get too far in the game. After the first two killed each other, I was only able to harvest one plant before a couple of monsters chased me down! I tried to lead them to a quillmonster, but the wouldn't fight eachother.

All in all, great job! Keep making games!

Thanks so much for playing our game! We're glad you enjoyed getting to tear down some buildings as a monster!

3d objects and collision is hard! :)

It was very cool to see new levels while playing! It's a great looking and simple platformer and a good effort for the jam. The animations and hitboxes feel very night and unambiguous. It's clear there was a lot of care and thought put into this.

There is a really cool game buried here! I played through the whole thing because I was still having fun, even though I didn't understand everything that's happening. Execution was well done, though. Bug free, appealing aesthetic, and simple, intuitive controls. The foundation for something exceptional is here, great work!

Fantastic demo from a 2 person team! Every part of this game exudes polish from the illustrations and animation to the simplicity and elegance of design. My only wish is that it was easier to play dress up with the man. He looked very silly, and I loved that.

Thanks so much for playing our game! We were thrilled to secure the talents of Eli Harris and his son Noah for our game. We're glad you loved it!
I wish we could export the .exe! For some reason, the exports broke in the second half of development and we weren't able to restore functionality to them :(

"in the fire was what looked like four living creatures. In appearance their form was human, but each of them had four faces and four wings. Their legs were straight; their feet were like those of a calf and gleamed like burnished bronze. Under their wings on their four sides they had human hands. All four of them had faces and wings, and the wings of one touched the wings of another. Each one went straight ahead; they did not turn as they moved." Ezekiel 1, 5-9

That clipping on the crowd audio will make me go crazy!
Thanks for tying our game and your rave review!

Thanks so much for trying our game! We're so glad you had fun playing it and got to go WILD with the mech builder!

Didn't want to wake the cat up, couldn't progress. Looked up spoilers, 10/10.

I'm gonna turn your mouth into a toilet!

(Adya is pretty great though 😂)

lmao

Woah, what a totally unique take of a game! I am TERRIBLE at games like wordle so this was was really tough for me and I couldn't get past level 6! However you had some incredible ideas and its clear a lot of love went into this game. The graphics, island sfx, and music were all top notch and lent themselves to the game VERY well. It was such a charming atmosphere, I couldn't help to keep going as long as I was able. Fantastic work.

I hope you find a way to KEEP MAKING games even if you are taking a break!

Nice game! The music and pixel-graphic sprites were extremely pleasing and made the game a lot of fun to play. It felt really good to slide around as the reapers, and I see you said you spent some time tweaking that. I loved all your settings, especially rebindable keys! My only complaint is that I couldn't rebind mouse button! It made it too difficult to play for long on my laptop. Otherwise great work and great submission!

Thanks so much for trying our game, we're glad you enjoyed it! It sounds like we did pretty good in setting the theme if those are your takeaways lol. Thanks as always for the kind words.

Thanks for playing our game! We're so glad you enjoyed the intro! :D

Thanks for giving our game a try! Glad to hear you liked the intro, I think we all agree it's suitably epic (even if it might set expectations for the gameplay a little high :D) Sorry to hear some elements of gameplay were confusing. We were rushing at the end to figure out how much tutorializing we had time to squeeze in vs final polish. Always a trade off in only 9 days!

Thanks so much for check out our little game :D We all had a ton of fun making it. And as Plexsoup alluded too, we had so many feature ideas that just didn't make the cut, which is a shame. But also a good lesson in learning what a game needs to be good vs what is fat that can be cut and isn't central to the gameplay experience. Glad to hear you had a good experience!

Thanks so much for checking out our game, we're glad to hear you enjoyed it! We were all really impressed by what our narrative and illustrator came up with for the intro and were thrilled to have their contributions! Check out Easy mode if you're having some trouble getting off the ground ;)

Going to come back to this one then!

This game was WILD! I love your cover art with the instagrm beholder! Whoever did the sprites for this games is on a whole other level of talent I've never even seen before! The gameplay and dialog were also stupendous! Loved the use of effects on the text to show how customers wanted their drink, and other bits of personality (cuthulu anybody???). The meters and drink mixing were fun and intuitive as well. I've only got three things that could be improved:

  1. Buying things from the seller was a bit annoying to click and drag.
  2. I lost cause I ran out of ingredients a customer wanted
  3. It wasn't always clear if I had gotten the levels right on the bar D:

Bravo! This game is INCREDIBLE!
