That's one of the good side effects :)

The satisfaction of hitting the gold crit is just too much!

Thank you, and I think you're the first person I've seen get a grade flawless S Grade other than me XD

This is absolutely amazing, at first I had no clue what was happening and cooked myself which made me laugh! Then I read the game page and learned of cooking myself, hooking myself and the clock thing.

How people managed 790 points let alone 2677 points i will never know.

I loved this submission :)

This was really well executed, i honestly wasn't expecting to see any rhythm games so it caught me off guard!

I didn't make it too far myself since rhythm isnt really in my bones but, I quite enjoyed what I did play and the usage of the theme.

The difficulty spike that occurs when either the screen disconnects or the wheel stops responding is a bit much. However! I really enjoyed this game as a concept and the usage of the theme was very creative.

Honestly with more time and polish this could be a very fun game to play even if just as a small quick game.

My best flawless grade is A

Hey all good still enjoyed what I got to play :)

Chrome & Windows.

Loved the presentation & creativity of the characters as well as the art itself! I'm always a big fan of simpler pixel art :)

The only note I have is that for a game like this maybe skew the odds in the players' benefit, your success 100% relying on the die getting higher than a 2 feels bad when it's required to be able to attack.

Oh I can keep a secret they'll never know [REDACTED FOR SAFETY AND INTEGRITY OF OTHER PLAYERS PLAYTHROUGH] is in the game hehe >:)

(1 edit)

Very well done, especially the multiple uses of each mechanic! using the ammunition not only as a weapon but also to lock a falling die to its face and then also causing you to lose parts of your floor, perfect. [REDACTED FOR SAFETY AND INTEGRITY OF OTHER PLAYERS PLAYTHROUGH]

Very fun to play, I have garbage reaction time so I couldn't get far, died on the first actual obstacle :(. Very punchy / juicy and easy to learn 10/10 :)

I really enjoyed the conversations with the characters, was a second before I understood you control what the dice landed on. Couldn't get past the desert level, guess I'm just a dirty leech ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ But the game kept my attention for a good 20 minutes so I say that's a success :)

The game also ran very slow (might've just been my browser though).

Love the idea, the animations, and the audio. All very well done :)

Unique use of the dice, Early timer seems a bit tight, but otherwise good execution!

I got a decent hair set, most of it permed, then got a receding hairline and died. Seems like an omen for my life.

You villain :3 one of the blocks I placed was a fake block, pure evil! But also enjoyable, only got 3 gems and 1 fruit before I soft-locked.

A whole lot of fun, Played several rounds :) Very Intuitive and also tough, but fair.

Didn't have a chance to put the specific details of controls in-game, they're on the game page but here's the TLDR.

Left Press to Vacuum.
Right Press to Fire.
T to toggle the Toggle Press for the Vacuum.
Hold Escape to quit the current run.

Out of dice? Keep Vacuuming until you get a hairball.

If you haven't already, start with any tutorial on surfaces as explaining the small details would be difficult. (there's a bit of stuff that needs to be done to make sure surfaces don't break/cause memory leaks).

Essentially I made my own surface that is the exact pixel width and height that I want (this would be the actual screen size NOT the pixels of the art ex, 1920 is my screen width vs visible pixels are 192).

We'll call it my_surf.

I draw the entire application surface (stretched) to my_surf and any GUI stuff is drawn after that again to my_surf.

finally, where the application surface is drawn normally in BJORTFX's GUI draw, I instead draw my_surf (stretched).

This game had me trying to figure out Toki Pona, still have no clue what the conversation was about. Good game though!

Sorry, last ping I swear. I managed to fix it in my own case by changing the application surface draw in your objCRT with drawing a surface that I made and filled with the app surface and my dialog box. << just in case someone needs this again I love these shaders!

This only occurs when drawing text in the gui event of objCRT (ex. trying to draw a textbox as I usually want the text readable/high res it happens there)

I'm unsure as to why, but these shaders don't work well with text/fonts. It causes everything including spaces to show up as cubes/rectangles. Weird.

Outside of that issue, it's absolutely beautiful!
Good job to both you for getting it into GML and, Zik for creating it :)

All ducks are birds, but not all birds are ducks.

I once tried to make a lil game where the movement was controlled by a gun, just like this.. sadly I couldn't, But this! this is amazingly done

Beat it in 32:42.72 , Died 210 times, almost gave up 3 times during the last 2 rooms (exluding the heart and unknown rooms)

Tough but rewarding

May Andy and Jake Rest in peace

nvm - for some reason there are 2 download buttons, i didnt see the first one. first one works

Idk if this is happening for anyone else, but when I click download all that happens is a low alpha gray gets drawn on the screen

Enter the temple and climb to the top to get the Crystal Heart.

Jump, dodge and dash to the top. Avoid anything dangerous and collect all the gems.

Simple controls and definitely advised to play with controller.

I don't quite know what License I would consider it but I have updated the page to say you can use it in any commercial/private game you make NO royalties or additional fees, but do try n reference me somewhere.

Also I've now placed it all into a compressed folder, I hadn't even thought of that before.

Ty Ty for the input :)

Im glad you like the shop idea, I  had a lot of fun putting this together :). The recharge idea wouldve been amazing, kinda wish I thought of it myself :D, with that setup I couldve even added an overcharge for close deaths encouraging people to go near the saws >:)

Ideas like this will help for whatever next jam I jump into, But for now back to working on my main project atm :)

Also - Sorry for repeat messages - there are some further details on items if you need, their on the actual game page :)

Ye I kind of procrastinated... A lot I maybe spent about 3-4 days ish on the game.

The bullets definitely needed to be faster and the screenshake woulda been easy to do.
I missed out on adding explanations to stuff as  I didnt set up a proper text drawing thing - so it just kept going off screen or misaligning.

Buying a minigun doesnt actually increase the pace - pace just increases over time, and that increase happens each time a saw spawns.
this goes untill they spawn every 20 frames... due to this money is kept over death to reduce difficulty, even though its still hard to play

Overall it was just haphazardly thrown together XD

It is actually the same font called Renogare found on dafont i do believe - i purchased the liscense to use it

I Believe I fixed the issue, the patch update has been uploaded and can be downloaded if you like.

Translated:
Eu acredito que consertei o problema, a atualização do patch foi carregada e pode ser baixada se você quiser.

thank you for notifying me. I was unaware of this bug. It sounds like it may be a memory leak so I will start to look into it. Glad you liked the game!

I don't speak Portuguese so I hope google translate does the job :)

Translated :
obrigado por me notificar. Eu não sabia desse bug. Parece que pode ser um vazamento de memória, então vou começar a investigá-lo. Que bom que gostou do jogo!

loved the cute art! and easy to learn gameplay quite enjoyable

thanks for playing the game :) if you enjoyed it enough the postjam download includes a few fixes (though the inertia thing is still there) , some more levels and time records - try and beat me

PS for anyone inquiring about the upload times - I had accidentally deleted the original file on the page and had to reupload it - sorry if this ruins anything...

On a side note though I Have also included a POST JAM update, includes a level fix - bug fix & most importantly TIME RECORDS! try n beat my scores
