Effective way of surfacing the random chance of turn-based mechanics, and a smooth and charming presentation. Well done :)

Really nice art and good color pallete, little to hard but nice still
A lot of polish but insanely hard, I kinda wanted to see more strategy (even tho the games about dice lol) a lot of the time I found myself just praying to rnjesus
Funny game! Though, I didn't really get why enemies keep attacking you when you have befriended them...
Loved the presentation & creativity of the characters as well as the art itself! I'm always a big fan of simpler pixel art :)
The only note I have is that for a game like this maybe skew the odds in the players' benefit, your success 100% relying on the die getting higher than a 2 feels bad when it's required to be able to attack.
I made a similar battler. I like seeing where others took the idea.
This game has similar issues, where the randomness of the dice can really mess you up early on. I did like options. Grub, talk, etc. I was hoping a perfect 6 on talk would instantly win the battle. Unfortunately all it did was lower defenses so it felt underpowered.
I felt the dice mechanic was a bit underdeveloped. You could completely replace it with any other rng and the game would feel the same.
The game looks good and sounds good. Good marks on presentation.
Really nice visuals, I have to say! It's a very interesting take on the theme. However it is kind of jarring that the game doesn't have audio. Also, running is just a disguised go back to menu button
Really polished game and a lot of content for a 48 hour jam, great work! I'll agree with the others that it's pretty difficult, but you guys seem to be addressing that :) Also a technical note, but the audio was only playing in the left ear for me, maybe a mono/stereo issue?
All in all, great entry, I'll have to keep an eye on this as you expand it!

SOME GREAT NEWS, EVERYBODY!
love the art! the characters are simple yet well designed. the dialogue also made them on point. overall its a really fun game ✨
Cool game! I liked the intro very much - nice music and fun dialogue :)
It was very difficult, though. I died to the first pawn every time.
It's fantastic that you made this much of a game during the game jam. It reminds me of Undertale a litte too. Great Job :)
geez, really nice music and art, reminds me a little of earthbound. the dialogue is funny too. really great job!
Hey I am now the king!!
Wow good job with this! The presentation is superb here. If this was just greatly expanded it'd be ready to sell as a full game. The game is pretty fun too. I like the fact that it wasn't completely random but instead it's more select it at the right time to get a high dice roll. Cool little story and characters too, helps keep up the engagement.
Only super minor nitpick but not sure if the AP or whatever they were called were needed for this just for the dice attack. Did get annoying when I couldn't just roll my dice and had to eat grub. As for difficulty I did beat it first try but maybe I was lucky?
Also I was sad the king still attacked me after talking about taxes with him. Would be cool if talking could possibly prevent a fight or even gain that enemy as an ally later on! But I'm sure that's way out of scope for this jam.
Anyways incredible job with this! One of the greats this jam I've played so far.
Thanks for the feedback, the only reason we added grub is because some of our friends just spammed the roll button, but I can see how that would get annoying. We want to expand the game in the future, and the talk button was actually meant to mimic how in Undertale you could beat an enemy by befriending it. I’m glad you enjoyed our game!
This is really an amazing entry for the jam, the art is killing it and it is really fun ! Yes a bit hard as you mentionned it, but this is what I want : to suffer !! But really, congratulation for your entry.
