Effective way of surfacing the random chance of turn-based mechanics, and a smooth and charming presentation. Well done :)

Developer

Thank you! That means a lot.

Really nice art and good color pallete, little to hard but nice still

Developer

Thank you so much! We will adjust the difficulty in an update.

A lot of polish but insanely hard, I kinda wanted to see more strategy (even tho the games about dice lol) a lot of the time I found myself just praying to rnjesus

Developer

Thanks for playing our game :)

Thanks for the feedback as well, we see how there isn't much strategy to the game. Maybe in the future we could have the dice be in the player's favor ( giving an extra split second for higher dice rolls). We could also add unlockable die that give you higher numbers.

Funny game! Though, I didn't really get why enemies keep attacking you when you have befriended them...

Developer

Thanks, yeah, we were going to change the text last minute but we forgot haha...

Maybe later it can say something like "The enemy got distracted" or we could have it be like sparing the enemy in Undertale.

Loved the presentation & creativity of the characters as well as the art itself! I'm always a big fan of simpler pixel art :)

The only note I have is that for a game like this maybe skew the odds in the players' benefit, your success 100% relying on the die getting higher than a 2 feels bad when it's required to be able to attack.

Developer

Thank you! we will take your feedback into consideration.

This game is a lot of fun and looks great! I like how the dice gets faster, making the game more challenging as you advance. I'm looking forward to seeing the full version of this game.

Developer

Thanks so much! We are so glad to see people enjoy our game :)

I made a similar battler. I like seeing where others took the idea.

This game has similar issues, where the randomness of the dice can really mess you up early on. I did like options. Grub, talk, etc. I was hoping a perfect 6 on talk would instantly win the battle. Unfortunately all it did was lower defenses so it felt underpowered.

I felt the dice mechanic was a bit underdeveloped. You could completely replace it with any other rng and the game would feel the same.

The game looks good and sounds good. Good marks on presentation.

Developer

Thank you for your feedback. We will fix the following problems in the full version. Your game was nice too!

Really nice visuals, I have to say! It's a very interesting take on the theme. However it  is kind of jarring that the game doesn't have audio. Also, running is just a disguised go back to menu button

Developer

Thank you! There is audio though, maybe it is something wrong with itch? I don’t know, but the audio works for us. Also, we planned on their being an overworld in the game, but once that got scrapped, the run button was pretty much there for decoration and a quit to menu type thing.

Really polished game and a lot of content for a 48 hour jam, great work! I'll agree with the others that it's pretty difficult, but you guys seem to be addressing that :) Also a technical note, but the audio was only playing in the left ear for me, maybe a mono/stereo issue?

All in all, great entry, I'll have to keep an eye on this as you expand it!

Developer

The audio might be a little off. We will check that out. Thanks for playing/rating!

I befriended the Jester and then it killed me...

Fun concept though, and the game looks and feels really polished.

Developer

Thank you! In the full version of the game, we will have it so that befriending enemies makes them not kill you.

Cool game! I liked the intro very much - nice music and fun dialogue :)

It was very difficult, though. I died to the first pawn every time.

Developer

Thanks for your feedback, in the future, we plan on changing the difficulty in the game or at least adding adjustable difficulty settings!

It's fantastic that you made this much of a game during the game jam. It reminds me of Undertale a litte too. Great Job :)

Developer

Thanks so much! Undertale was what inspired the talk feature in the game :)

Developer

THANK YOU ALL!!!

Hey I am now the king!!

Wow good job with this! The presentation is superb here. If this was just greatly expanded it'd be ready to sell as a full game. The game is pretty fun too. I like the fact that it wasn't completely random but instead it's more select it at the right time to get a high dice roll. Cool little story and characters too, helps keep up the engagement.

Only super minor nitpick but not sure if the AP or whatever they were called were needed for this just for the dice attack. Did get annoying when I couldn't just roll my dice and had to eat grub. As for difficulty I did beat it first try but maybe I was lucky?

Also I was sad the king still attacked me after talking about taxes with him. Would be cool if talking could possibly prevent a fight or even gain that enemy as an ally later on! But I'm sure that's way out of scope for this jam.

Anyways incredible job with this! One of the greats this jam I've played so far.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, the only reason we added grub is because some of our friends just spammed the roll button, but I can see how that would get annoying. We want to expand the game in the future, and the talk button was actually meant to mimic how in Undertale you could beat an enemy by befriending it. I’m glad you enjoyed our game!

This is really an amazing entry for the jam, the art is killing it and it is really fun ! Yes a bit hard as you mentionned it, but this is what I want : to suffer !! But really, congratulation for your entry.

Developer(+1)

Haha, thanks for playing the game, we actually hope to expand the game in the future :)
