Hm, honestly, I feel like there's no reason to ever stop shooting. Yes, the recoil is there but it's not really that big of an issue and your own movement can fight it no problem. Once you get the minigun and say sawbreaker on top of that, the game becomes trivial, because you can destroy most of the saws before new one spawn in. If there was an incentive to stop, I think it would help a ton. Have limited ammo that recharges when you stand completely still. Or ammo packs that drop in random places on the map. Or something more original... :D I realize my suggestions are pretty basic, but I guess you get my point.
Besides that, I think the game is still well put together! I think it looks really good, simple but it works. I like the shop idea as well, grinding a little bit to unlock stuff but for just that one run. I think that's really cool. Overall I feel like there's potential. Good job!
Im glad you like the shop idea, I had a lot of fun putting this together :). The recharge idea wouldve been amazing, kinda wish I thought of it myself :D, with that setup I couldve even added an overcharge for close deaths encouraging people to go near the saws >:)
Ideas like this will help for whatever next jam I jump into, But for now back to working on my main project atm :)
Its Pretty nice. A menu would have been good. Also some screenshake would make it spicier. Making the bullets faster and the recoil weaker could also help a bunch. Some more explanation on what all the items do would be very good. Also buying the minigun seems to make the disc spawn rate insane, basically making it impossible to survive. Also your money is kept after death. Thats all i guess.
Ye I kind of procrastinated... A lot I maybe spent about 3-4 days ish on the game.
The bullets definitely needed to be faster and the screenshake woulda been easy to do. I missed out on adding explanations to stuff as I didnt set up a proper text drawing thing - so it just kept going off screen or misaligning.
Buying a minigun doesnt actually increase the pace - pace just increases over time, and that increase happens each time a saw spawns. this goes untill they spawn every 20 frames... due to this money is kept over death to reduce difficulty, even though its still hard to play
Overall it was just haphazardly thrown together XD
