They do. I’m actually a romance write for work but trying to move over into full time game writing so this is kind of my first non romance writing piece. I write currently for blushing books publications. I’m excited for the change though since I’ve always loved video games and making them. :)
Thank you so much for the detail! This review was so helpful. Yeah I ended up doing the tutorials at the last minute so I have actually reworked them into the story but alas that was after the deadline for the contest lol. Such a short time to get it all in :) I’m glad we were along the same thinking though. The church was god awfully designed lol. I didn’t even recognize it until some other people pointed it out which thankfully has been fixed as well as a lot of the other mapping issues I found and others found after the fact and I definitely agree I need to add some subtitles to the intro lol. I got a little ambitious adding my voice in there that I completely forgot those :p all of these comments though that you made are wonderful and make me really happy that you took the time to play it and point it out. I did make the map myself also with incarnate. It was actually based on a book I’m also writing :) again thank you for your lovely comments and your critical critiques which is great to hear to help me make it better! I appreciate it!
Thank you so much for taking the time to play. The demo is actually being reworked to get rid of the training area to make it more into the story and also opening the shops for the whole time. I had to close it due to story issues with the shop owner having a history with Owin which I didn't have time to explain in the demo, but all shops will be open at all hours in the full release. Again thank you so much for taking the time to play! It means a lot.
I honestly don't know why this game doesn't have more ratings. I really really love your artwork. While it didn't play like it, for some reason it reminded me of persona... I think it is your unique style. Really great job :)
Kendallfire is right. Plus think a lot of games have one person who put it out. For me I was lucky to get my office and my friends to play and vote but I’m one person. Someone with 5 people working on it for example... well imagine they got their friends and family to play and only those people voted it would still outnumber pretty much all of us. Plus I mean like KendallFire said if you’re a good marketer you could have a lot of votes too. Nothing really to get around this. I’ve found I’m atleast just enjoying seeing all the different games and ignoring the voting. The ones I’ve played I find the ratings really don’t reflect the quality. Some of the best I’ve played on here so far have some of the smallest number of ratings.
aside from a few bugs and trying to figure out how to reload... I’m so glad someone asked down here lol... aside from that I enjoyed this game a lot. I’ve never been a fps kind of person but I found myself smiling. It definitely was challenging for sure which I really liked. I couldn’t space out while playing at all. All in all a wonderful execution!
aside from some weird text issues and some lag which totally could have been my computer, this game just looks so good. Your menu is so beautiful and you can tell you put a lot of work into the aesthetics of this game. It really stands out. I hope to definitely see a lot more from this game in the future!
Well my lag was more than likely more my own computer since I seem to be having some issues like that with other games too. But removing the lag your game was incredibly well done and I really look forward to seeing it finished :)
I did have some lag issues as well. But overall this game was great. It is so beautiful. The music fits well and the art and maps look wonderful. Also I have to say your cover art has to be one of my favorites
I really want to see this game finished. I was honestly shocked at how much I really really enjoyed this. I hope more people play it because it’s truly unique. Holy hell it was really funny too.
honestly from what I see there’s pretty much no chance of any of us winning this without already having a following. It’s a popularity contest. I’ve reached out to everyone I know but in the end the winner of peoples choice will most likely be established with an already fan base. Oh well what can you do lol.
I have a question about updating your game after the submission period. I know you said you can't change the download file, but you can update the game info page, what about adding another platform? For example if I wanted to add a platform for mac. I just noticed some people in the submission feed have added windows that only had another platform before so I just wanted to check if we could do this.
Really fun game. The maps are beautiful and well done. I like the whole concept of running a Dojo. The idea is really unique. Great work in such a short amount of time. I look forward to seeing where this goes.
Played through and was not able to replicate. It took to the inside of the church like designed. If it is in reference to the door not animating opening it was designed that way with the tileset. I will add the opening to the bottom so you aren't standing on the door and it looks more realistic. Thank you for your feedback. :)
